Maguire
Brain Traysers
Maguire I'm talking about the home game when we won 1-0, Cureton scored the winner after Cutler spilled a Forster shot. We smashed them in that game and Nicky Forster hit a volley from c.40 odd yards that beat the keeper and hit the top of the bar.

Big Foot is talking about the game at Stoke as he says, when it was very windy and they won 1-0. Terrible game but Sidwell did clip the bar with a volley from range.

I don't know what Compo is talking about.

Remember Fozzy's well, along with the immediate feeling that i had very nearly witnessed something special. Ghey

Was Sids at an inflatables day? I remember some flying around followed by a not particularly brilliant game.

Last game of the season iirc, same day Leeds beat Arsenal 3-2 at Highbury and Ian Harte scored a free-kick.

Terrible game due partly to the wind. They had something to play for and we didn't so no surprise they edged it.
Yup - it was also the first ever random inflatables day I think

James Henry scoring twice at their place in the League Cup before going on to miss his penalty (along with Lita iirc).

Nicky Shorey scoring from a quick free kick. I was sure at the time that the ref would disallow it.

Anyone remember a 4-0 win at the Britania? About 99-2000 One of the coldest games I have ever been to. They weren't the loudest fans in the prem that night most had left by 75 minutes! We were the only ones still in the ground at full time. I remember Mark Mceveer scored, thought Burns had pulled a gem turned out to be useless like most of his signings.

Nah he came on against Luton the previous round. Scored a class penalty in the shoot-out. Shame Lita fcuked it up otherwise we could have been on a decent cup run that season

Sir Stanley Matthews at the age of 49 in a very long pair of shorts that made him look like Sammy Igoe ( or the other way round perhaps).
