TBH mate, most of our fans under the age of 20 probably can't spell aldershot, let alone give a flying one about any rivalry. And I suspect not many under 30 see us as having a big rivalry with you.

Personally the only local (ish) club I really dislike are Swindon. I'm actually quite fond of Oxford, although I'll go through the pantomime nonsense for a laugh.

Most Reading fans always want the Shots in the cup thought Ian. So you're talking bullshit again.

i know Aldershot are our 'main rivals' from history, but from personal experience ive seen the best violence in order:

Swindon
Oxford
Bournemouth
Aldershot

Aldershot of today aren't the same club as the one my grandparents had a rivalry with. Seriously not bothered.

I haven't been around long enough to know, but what is this rivalry with Bounemouth. I saw last year that a lot of their fans had put us top of their list of rivals. What's happened in the past? Surely Bounemouth's rivals are Pompey or Southampton.

I remember after the 3-3 draw they decided it was a good idea to smash up one of the really old Reading buses. Probably did us a favour, thats why we have new ones

In answer to this and being an older fan.

There were some great memories of the games but if we played you now it wouldn't be the same.

To many fans a one off game against you in the cup would be a dream tie but not many would now consider it a local rivalry.
I'd sooner pop some bubbles at the Boleyn nowadays.

'greed, great for the old school types but most of our fans would be indifferent to it.

How many of you went to the Shots V Reading friendly a few years ago?. I remember Ben Thornley playing for Reading that day and it all kicking off in the pub and at the ground. Bricks being thrown, few punch ups.
