Hoop Blah
marcusopp ....Kebe knows his body better than the medical team. Following an examination, the medic reports to Adkins that Kebe's fit, while Kebe reports back saying he's not fit. Knowing how arrogant medics are, he probably didn't even ask Kebe how the injury felt, jus thought he knew better.

You do realise that at the weekend Kebe phoned into BBCRB to tell them he was fit and ready to play?

48 hours later he let the club know he wasn't fit enough for last nights game.

This was the critical moment for me - Kebe - who never wants to give interviews - calls the local radio station. He seems to have an agenda suddenly :x

That's a pretty easy story to write - after his unacceptable behaviour towards the club, manager and teammates, he has none (apart from maybe training with the youth team but we probably don't want to expose them to such a poor influence).

"I've been fit for two weeks but the manager did not pick me," added Kebe.

"I trained on Saturday and felt my hamstring tweak on Monday. I told him early that it is better for me to stay calm for a few days. We need some points in the league and felt Saturday was more important than Tuesday [against Peterborough].

If you believe him, and personally I don't, he clearly hadn't fully recovered from his injury and therefore hasn't been fit for two weeks. Consequently the manager was dead right not to pick him.

If, on the other hand, you believe him, he is obviously incredibly injury prone and any club looking to sign him should take that into account. Talking of caveat emptor; IIRC this isn't the first time that Kebe has displayed a French-like tendency towards 'industrial action' to force his employer's hand.

Surely it's the manager's fault? I mean that's what we were told when Guthrie refused to play.

No loss ..

I hope he goes to Palarse...

we can maybe get a consistant Winger rather than a player whos Lionel Messi one day and Lionel Blair the rest of the season

Although I appreciate knowing exactly what's going on at the club, I don't really know what is to be gained by Adkins' candour. He has essentially confirmed that his relationship with Kebe has collapsed, that Kebe is refusing to play and that he is resigned to seeing him leave.

So that doesn't really leave us in quite the best negotiating position, does it? If I were Palace I'd have offered 500k, reckon there's a decent chance we'd be forced to accept that now.

You would make an appalling lawyer, given your inability to spot a whole host of important distinguishing factors between the two cases.

You have a point but I hope Anton decides to call their and Kebe's bluff, turns down any bids, fines him for misconduct and sends him to train with the youth team until he comes back begging for forgiveness.

Not at all, it's just that I have the intelligence to be able to spot a set of quite different circumstances that merit different courses of action/treatment.

Proving that you are obsessed with the (quite wrong) belief that the club treated McDermott badly and didn't giving him more than a fair chance?

He loved Brian. He doesn't like Adkins. He's got himself fit just before the transfer window closes and he doesn't want to jeopardise his pending move to Palace by playing in a pointless game against Peterborough so he fakes an injury. Pretty straight forward.

He's had to put up with a lot of stick from the fans over the years and given us some great memories. Can't blame him for wanting one last go at the PL before he starts to decline.

Cheers Jimmy

He wouldn't beg for forgiveness. He would be fine getting his massive wage for doing nothing. The only people we'd punish is ourselves.

Has anyone else been tearfully listening to With or Without You by U2 next to a rain-soaked window pane since this news broke?

No?

Just me then.
