Billy Sharp - permanent?

by dogzbollox » 19 Dec 2013 14:38

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere...but I just spotted it

On-loan Reading striker Billy Sharp says he has no future with Southampton and wants a permanent deal with the Royals.

I want to get settled. I want to be loyal to a football club, I don't want to keep moving around anymore.

We should think of a song first, we don't want to support the manager signing anyone permanently if their name doesn't fit into a song...... although, if he was prepared to change his name to Jude, that would work as everyone knows (and sings) the lyrics to Hey Jude.

If he was any good, he wouldn't have to keep moving about. I'm out.

Viva Billy Shaaarp,
Viva Billy Shaaarp,
Nigel Adkins mate
We'll get him from the saints,
Viva Billy Shaaarp

A Berkshire version of this http://youtu.be/bwIiMvogVrA

It would make for a noisy chant anyway

Any song for Billy has to have an edge and get to the point quickly.

It's not up to Billy.

So that's bye bye, then.

We need a song that's witty at first, but seems less funny each time you hear it.

Tiny Tim redux... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1erhG4ZVLDE

Reading found a striker
His name was Billy Sharp
We took him to the Nags Head
To see if he could drink
He downed 10 pints of lager
And then he grabbed his coat
And now he's at the Mad Stad
Stabbing (insert opponents name) Wigan in the throat

Stabbing, stabbing, stabbing

Stabbing, stabbing, stabbing

Stabbing, stabbing, stabbing

Stabbing Wigan in the throat

Forgot just how good that was! Also, so easy to dance to when legless - showing my age but who gives an Aldershit!

Cool. Can someone explain why he's better than Alfie?

Sharp scores .44 per game while ALF scores .41 (Okay, so that's marginal obviously)

Sharp also doesn't completely go missing if he starts the game which ALF tends to do far too often. Although we haven't really seen him enough this season to properly comment on that, I suppose.

Plus ALF's attitude always seems very geared toward ALF rather than the team which occasionally gets under my skin.
