I've got a copy of Hero, the review of the 1986 world cup narrated by Micheal Caine (summary here) and if that had been what I grew up with (rather than the 1990 one narrated by Edward Woodward), I think I'd have loved that more.

I think one of the things that world cup's have lost is that ... well ... you don't get the Cameroon's doing over Argentina, or someone like Scotland losing to Costa Rica, or England playing well, any more.

From the same mate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUm5GKlaX8s

lovely. stuff.

Ghana did well in the last one
Senegal did well in 2002 as did South Korea who beat Spain and Italy.

2006 was predictable, 1998 Croatia beat Germany and Bulgaria beat them in 94....

So you do get them

ALOL

Talking of Pompey, when i was down in Bournemouth the other week some bloke came up to me on the beach and said "hello mate - looking forward to the new season?".....after a puzzled look, i found out he thought i was James Dunne.........i had no idea who James Dunne is/was but this is him
