Nameless We didn't get fined for any previous pitch invasions so not sure we'd get fined for this one.

It was very different to the Villa situation where the invasion disrupted the game

But the overweight gymnast did disrupt the game with his display.

Going to say that it has to be for our gymnastic friend otherwise the FL would be coining it in at the end of every season with all the pitch invasions that happen at the final whistle. Or was it perhaps the fact that the pitch invasion after the whistle was little unsavoury in places e.g. the dickhead with the flare.

If it was just pudding's shenanigans then surely Bradford would also be in trouble for their one man incursion from the first match?

But it's being implied that our owners have money but are unable to spend it due to FFP. Therefore, as long as fines don't count as expenditure against FFP we are OK!

Maybe the club can weigh up the cost of the fine against the cost saved by not employing effective & professional stewards to stop this kind of thing happening in the first place.

I think the most ridiculous thing about the pitch invasion was that Villa had already got in trouble for their own pitch invasion and yet our twathead fans ran on anyway.

People saying we won't get fined are a bit silly. We blatantly will. When Villa did it the BBC commentators said it was like the 80's & going back to the dark ages.

They will have to apply the same rules to us as they do to Villa. Fella on BBCRB said the highest ever fine was £115k.

Well done you fcuking tw@ts. As long as you got your selfie eh?

You would think we would learn our lesson after last season's utterly embarrassing and moronic effort but no.

I'd wait and see what the outcome is before getting too hysterical about it.

And whether there's an appeal.

Did we get fined after Burnley last season?
Did Derby get fined in 2008?

If not, there's possible grounds for an appeal there. And if Villa are fined, that doesn't mean we should be if the circumstances are different. If we do get fined, it'll be because of the twats with the flare and no one else.

Probably cheaper to pay the fine.
A thousand stewards, agency rates, that's going to be a huge sum for 8 hour shifts.
To stop a pitch invasion that came from 3 sides you'd need to ring the whole ground with stewards, or build moats /fences. Police dogs would probably be better but do we want dogs patrolling the ground ?

So does this mean that every promoted club where there is a pitch invasion this year will be charged?, not condoning it, but surely the FA are setting a precedence?

There are no grounds for appeal because it was plastered all over the TV. Apparently they are more lenient with regards to end of season games (i.e. safe from relegation, promotions etc) but they have to rule with more of an iron fist during the season to stop it becoming a pandemic. This is what the football lawyer just said on the radio.

I'm not sure what being televised has to do with anything if you're raising an appeal based on precedent and an allegedly inappropriately applied sanction.

It's not like we'd be denying it happened.

I'm not convinced we'll be fined - though it certainly looks much more likely, they may have taken the approach that they can't charge one incident without doing the other, whilst recognising they were different events and different outcomes may be reached in the decision.

And that still doesn't make it the fault of anyone other than the flare twats

There were well over 1000 people on the pitch - they are all culpable

Promotion is very different. It's usually just a celebration of the team's performance that season. Winning a cup tie and going onto the pitch to goad the losing fans isn't the same thing at all. It's their loss that makes our success, and if a pitch invasion happens under those circumstances there will always be a few morons who want to wind the oppo fans up, or even lob pyrotechnics at 'em. That's significantly less likely to happen with a promotion pitch invasion, unless the promotion has been at the other teams expense, then the FA would probably come down on that one too.

Given we know pitch invasions aren't automatically fined, any fine would have to be based on more than just invading the pitch. Ergo, no.

So im guessing every club that gets promoted this or next weekend gets fined if their fans run on the pitch after the game
