Speculation: Out of Contract players

I'll kick it off with Jamie Ward.

Good player, very tricky and always seems to score against us so I'd definitely take him on a free.

Wanted him to come here when he was at Sheffield United originally, but then I wanted Ricky Lambert to come here when he was at Bristol Rovers so what do I know about players so the club will just continue to ignore my recommendations.

I wouldn't say he's prolific but he's better than what we have.

Mackie and Ward, that'd do nicely.

I suggested Ward on the other thread(s). Think it'd be a case of him or Mackie, rather than and.

Ward made 29 appearances for the Rams this season 2014 -15, scoring six goals.

Not setting the sky alight but higher than most Reading players. Still prefer to see RFC academy players given a decent run and chance to establish themselves, as Ward's record shows he averaged a goal every 4.5 appearances.

Like Mackie though he often plays behind the sriker or wide as well.

He scored 12 in 25 the year before.

Also have a feeling a lot of his appearances this season are off the bench.

Jamie Ward

2014-15 = 06 Goals, 03 Assists in 1,588 Minutes. A Goal every 262 Minutes. Goal/Assist every 176 minutes

Overall for Derby he's -

149 Appearances, 10,642 Minutes 34 Goals 29 Assists

That's a goal every 313 Minutes. A goal or assist every 169 minutes

So he's steady enough, makes a lot of goals, but isn't prolific

Ward is a better version of Mackie, imo.

Was in a pub with a Forest fan

Said Cox scored one worldy then "lived off it for two years"

"Just does't score enough."

On Mackie he said, "You always think he's more useful than he really is because he's so committed, but count his goals and assists and they aren't that good."

On Gunter he said, "Flatters to deceive. Not a defender in a million years."

Does make you wonder why RFC had all three, as I think the "fans" assessment is correct. But one has recently been resigned, one is on an existing contract and one was on loan with potential view to make permanent. Maybe SC will use three CBs and have Gunter and Obtia more as wing backs as both are good going forward and not so hot on stopping crosses.

Anyone else think Matt Briggs would be a decent signing at LB. Released by Millwall due to them having to cut the wage bill, but looks like a decent player

Mate that supports Fulham said he would never cut it at this level, one look at his career stats supports that;

From 2006 to present he has only made 50 appearances at 6 different clubs...

Is this a Cox chant to the tune of Depeche Mode's can't get enough?
