One of my rangers fans said: "Good attacking full back but also very defensively sound"

Which sounds exactly what we're looking for

Mt Rangers supporting colleague reckons he would be an excellent addition but thinks it unlikely there is any truth in the rumour. Wallace is a die hard Rangers fan and was one of the first to sign up to stay with them when their troubles started even though he could have got paid loads more elsewhere.

However as left backs go we could do a lot worse.

RANGERS have rejected an official bid from Nottingham Forest for left-back Lee Wallace.

Well, I'm convinced.

Seeing as we have no money and Forest are the team bidding I can't see this being on at all.

I can see Wallace leaving Rangers as they are desparate for the money. May be premature to say Forest as:

The Nottingham Post on 3rd December Forest are resigned to the fact they have bust their allowable losses of £8m for the 2013/14 season by some distance in the figures they submitted to the Football League last month.

And they are ready to work under the constraints of an embargo, which currently should be enforced from January.

But, even if that does prove to be the case, Forest will still immediately be able to sign two players, either on loan or on free transfers, when the window opens on January 1.

Under the tweaked FFP regulations approved in November, Championship clubs are permitted to retain a squad of 24 'established' professional players, beyond January.

Currently Stuart Pearce's squad has 22 men who fall into that category of 'established' players who are over the age of 21 and have made five or more starts for the first team.

So basically, as long as the FFP restrictions are enforced, Forest can't spend any money. The sale of Lascelles and Darlow happened this season so will only be relevant to next season's FFP calculations.

In July, Rangers were looking for a seven figure fee but are currently 9 points off the pace with no certainty of being in the SPL next season. This all drives the price down and we have a history of taking advantage of clubs in financial difficulty, asuming we are more or less in the clear with FFP which seems to have been suggested.

I would love to see Wallace at Reading, he's a very good full back who would definitely improve the squad and would be available at an excellent price for his ability. However, I agree that there are a number of clubs who would be a more attractive destination than us.

not saying it works everytime (boyd for example) but the Scottish market is something that could be tapped into. Wallace would be a good fit and the Hearts captain Danny Wilson who has just exercised an option to leave Hearts this summer. ambrose at celtic isn't getting played very much as is Antony stokes, who came through the ranks at Arsenal.

all could be viable, relatively cheap options
