Speculation - Steve Sidwell

by Royalcop » 22 Jun 2015 12:25

After an injury-hit season, seems to have dropped down the pecking order at Stoke (who will surely add to their squad in the transfer window) so could be available for a loan out? Has presumably worked with Clarke before at Chelsea too. Would love to see him return given that we've never adequately replaced him.

Will his head still fit through the dressing room door though?

If we get Quinn then we won't need sidwell, Clarke said he only wants 1 more midfielder.

MoorgateRoyal Never go back.

I think I'd only ever break that rule for Long or Gylfi.

Oh yeah, except Gylfi. I also nominated Kebe on another thread, but that's more for sentimental purposes than anything else. He could never ruin his time here.

Sidwell is still way to good to get back IMO. Maybe if we were looking at a top six season, rather than the more likely looking bottom six.

Williams and Sidwell in the centre would do nicely

Yeah but when he was at Reading, he was 'Adie' Williams.

More chance of neither being here come next season. Williams is another big earner we'll be looking to lose, either this window or maybe next.

I'd take ALF back as well - he knew where the goal was and always gave 100%.

And gives us an object lesson in what happens if you peak too early.....

Calling our likely league position in June is always exposing yourself to a helping of egg on the face. We're now looking much more like a mid table side !

Although if we are relegated next season Ian will have perpetual bragging rights and will be able to feel very happy

Not according to the man himself. I always thought it was Adie, but he says Ady,
