Nameless Given that Murray clearly didn't want to be here last season Clarke would have to do quite a sales job on him if Palace decided to release him. It would have to be a sale not a loan as well and whether that would be of interest for us given his age must be questionable.

given that he knew he had the chance to play regularly in the premiere league instead, I don't really blame him, and its certainly not like he was all- I h8 reading, id never go back- pretty much every player on our books would have done the same

Don't quite understand you there Brendy !

No issue with him going back at the end of his loan, that's how loans work.

But even when he was here he never looked like he was really interested. no doubt part of that was playing in a fairly poor side under a manager who was coming to the end of his tenure but nothing about Murray and his demeanour made me think, this guy is playing to impress us. We were a useful way for him to get himself back into the Palace picture and I don't think anything about his time here will make him interested in a return unless Clarke can do what he did with Quinn and McShane.
Obviously all just my impression / interpretation and as likely to be wrong as right....

Would quite like it if signed Gayle. Doesn't look like he's going to get that much of a look in at Palace this season, so maybe he could come here on loan for the season?

@reluctantnicko 36m
Dwight Gayle not keen on Bristol City move. Massive offer. Plus an intriguing extra in deal too. Palace won't be happy.

Jesus. Great player at this level, but that's obscene for club just out of League 1.

Value is abroad, let's hope our scouting is good.

Up to £8m for a striker who has never reached double figures in his career is ridiculous.

ALF got more goals than him in the Prem too at an older age...

Who decided he's a great player at this level? Pog has been shown to be more Prolific than Gayle and that's saying something.

It is ridiculous, but he has hit double figures. In 2012/13, he scored 13 goals for Peterborough in 29 appearances (plus 7 from 18 for Dagenham in League Two the same season). Before that, he hit 29 in the Conference North.

7 goals from 23 in the Premier League isn't bad, but it's never £8m either.

How can Palace want 10m for Gayle. 5m for Beric looks cheap in comparison

He's English, that basically doubles any transfer value.

They've now offered £9m for Andre Gray...if he can't agree personal terms can someone let City know that our number 9 is worth a punt and we would take £9m if they want to pay that much...

absolutely insane money for a players that's not been beyond the championship - he may be pretty good but that's about £6million too much - I would actually say Pog is btter

Stupid money. What the hell is going on this summer? And last with Fulham. If Bristol City added 3-4 players for that money they'd almost certainly be around the top six this season. On one player? Ludicrous!

It's a seller's market. If you don't want to sell, why would you let a player go unless it's for silly money?

This is either the beginning or just a ridiculous anomaly.

It's concerning that with so much spent on mediocre players in the prem it has now inflated prices for players like this and will make it even harder to compete at this level let alone the next.
