Not a bad call. We are currently playing like a bunch of cloggers.

Pepe the Horseman Remember when we were linked with Luis Enrique?

First overseas "star" manager we were linked with was Bernd Schuster about 20 years ago.

I'd love Denis to get the post, be something special and would really raise the profile of the club. And why not? He, certainly knows how the game should be played, there'd no problem attracting players from any level of the game and no trailing baggage. Bit of a bugger if we ever got into Europe though.

We do have a bit of history when it comes to plucking 1st time managers - Fat Scottish Bastard, Parjudas and BMcD to name 3 off the top of my head - will conveniently forget Terry the Taxi.

We'd be the ideal fit for DK I would have thought. Little pressure out of the PL spotlight and if it did all go pear shaped, the media would simply say he was onto a loser with little old Reading anyway, and it wouldn't diminish his own personal standing.

Plus he would probably like to play attractive football, and would have a lot of contacts at the Ajax Academy.

Can't really see too much of a downside - except he's probably never heard of us, and WCBAP.

Jimmy Floyd has done wonders down Burton way, so why not?

Can someone start a list of strikers who have made good managers. I'm struggling.

..would be delighted to see Jimmy Quinn back

At least he could trade tie and suit for tracksuit and score more goals for our forwards that what our forwards are actually scoring right now.

An amalgam of Forster,Williams,Quinn,Gooding,Sir Steve his Geordie assistant and Wally would be romantically nice

And more acceptably sucessful

Bergkamp's a big name, but it's a huge ask to come straight into the Championship and compete. Didn't work out for Soljskaer
