Boro away in 2010 is possibly the coldest I've been at a football match! It was about 3/4'c but the wind was whipping across the ground and I was oxf**d frozen!! Ivar got injured in that game and missed the remainder of the season.......I blamed the bloody freezing cold....even an Icelandic international couldn't cope with it!!

I think the coldest match I've ever been to was a 2-1 away win at Derby about 5 years ago. Shane Long scored both of our goals that day if I remember correctly.

The fan's coaches didn't even make it due to the snow being so bad on the M40, so there was probably about 100 of us in the away end shivering our way through 90 minutes.

I always remember getting very cold at Oldham a couple of times. Portsmouth before they put the roof on and Plymouth were pretty cold is the weather was a bit off and I remember being very cold and wet at cup ties against Bournemouth and Halifax years ago.

Stoke (the Britannia not Victoria) is a cold one because of the design and location so I'd go for that.

I dunno - The Victoria Ground away end was bad. But then that was pre 2005 so you might not know.

You do know we have regularly played Stoke since 1986, at both grounds.

I think that gets my vote, the way the wind blew up from the moors onto the open away end. It was bitterly cold and if there was any sun it was blinding your view.

Went to Ajax once in the home end of the Arena and it was cold enough to make your piss solid.

Yeah, another shout for Oldham, it can be bone achingly cold on the wrong day.

I'd imagine some of those in the Scottish lower leagues could push the boundaries of human endurance - prob the most extreme in the UK.

I too was part of the hardy crew of 150ish Royals ( we'd sold about 700 tickets) who made it through the snow. Admittedly I did cheat by only needing to get 24 miles from Chesterfield......anyway, I'd still argue that Boro away a season earlier was much colder!!
