Ah, I thought it must be a mistake. Didn't make sense when their crowds normally seem to be circa 4,000 but everywhere reported at 12,418 yesterday.

Royal Rother Camberley fans and players have been so easy to wind up about their long-ball hoof it football over the last couple of years it's ridiculous! But I have to say I really don't get the love-in amongst the CCL teams. I have no anti feelings about any of them but don't have any desire for the other teams to do well in the cup competitions.

It might be a bit curmudgeonly but I support Windsor, not the Combined Counties League.

Agree with you there. You either have a soft spot for a club or not regardless of their league status.

Has anyone noticed that a certain Ibrahima Sonko is playing for Harlow Town in Division One North of the Isthmian League,
I've still got my Sonko is Superman t-shirt. Tempted to make a trek some time to cheer him on for old times.

..still doing v. well too - in his 40 appearances this season, has picked up 8 Gold Stars (Performance of the Match award) as well as scoring two goals.

Hadn't realised he'd spent three years in the Turkish top flight (Belediyespor - never heard of them but they are currently 4th) ) before coming back to UK

HELLP
Bracknell Town 1-1 Flackwell Heath - another good point for 'Robins' against a side battling for top spot with current leaders Thatcham who are the next visitors to Larges Lane this Tuesday. (Though I'm told the forecast is poor from early Tuesday AM up until lunchtime.) This takes them out of the bottom four too, with a healthy number of games in hand. Not really in range of much else above them - 'Saints' are 5 points away having played 5 games more and then its another 5 points to 14th placed Ardley.

Brimscombe & Thrupp 1-2 Ardley United
Longlevens AFC 2-3 Thatcham Town - close win for 'Kingfishers' who led then trailed and went down to 10 men only to fight back for a late win - with Heathens dropping points at Bracknell now have a four point cushion at the top. Two more goals for much travelled ex-Yellaman marksman Jon Bennett.

Controversial goal in the Guiseley v Braintree game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCrUEqThTh0

Now im not in favour kicking the ball out and giving it back unless a player is properly hurt, but this is pretty bad. Looks like a clear attempt to score from the restart despite clearly offering the ball back. Keeper had no chance!

Good footage - my observations.

No blame on the referee.

The goal scorer was no doubt fancying his chances but the keeper also played a part - clearly calling for the ball in the direction that he was in - opening the chances for a goal being scored.

Easiest solution was to walk the goal in - they decided to not allow that - says it all about the clubs involved.

Understand it also kicked off afterwards.

Linked to the refereeing post by Sutekh on another topic - just shows you how hard the job of refereeing is when you get crazy situations like this with the involvement of what could be classed as brain dead players and managers.

Paul,

In instances like these, is there any reason why a referee cant order the throw in to be retaken? Or award a free-kick against the scorer for unsportsmanlike conduct? You can award a free kick for diving, which falls into the 'unsportsmanlike' category, so why not this?

Firstly, it's not the refs fault they scored but Paul, how can you suggest the keeper has played any part in that situation? He's called for the ball whilst stood on the edge of his box and the lads pinged it over him.

Now I'm not so sure he meant it but it's difficult to second guess what was going through his mind. Suffice to say that, playing at that level, he should be in enough control of the ball to mean he was at the very least trying to take the piss out of the keeper and make him sweat on the back pass.

Good question on re-taking the throw Tony. To me it could easily have been called as a foul throw but after letting play continue the ref and lino probably didn't remember it or think of it under such odd conditions.

The Guiseley Managers comments about it being a grey area are totally embarrassing though.

You cant ask for it to be re-taken but I have had something similar in my career and what you have to do is think quick on your feet and blow the whistle before it goes in and say you were not ready, throw taken from the wrong spot etc. that's the only way the referee can prevent this scenario. There has been similar scenarios where its been passed back but the keeper fumbles it out for a corner LOL - and teams have then scored from that corner....

I have not heard the goal scorers defence - do we really think it was a goal attempt?

Understand Hoop Blah - think I was just being devils advocate.

I watched it with sound down at work so not heard managers comments. Will play it when I get in to see what he had to say.

Seems even Mick is fed up of the club not paying players whilst having a vague hope of promotion. It's like people are only just twigging onto the fact the club is and always will be drifting unless another money man comes in

.... tomorrow's 'local' NL fixtures (weather permitting) - though current forecast is now only light rain and temps above freezing - so should be OK where it's dried out from the most recent downpour.
- there were a few games rained off midweek, particularly to the east and north around S.Mids. Both games at Bracknell v Thatcham (Hellenic Premier) & Flackwell (B&B Trophy semi-Final vs Binfield - winner to play Newport Pagnell, who did play their S-F on Tuesday W1-0 vs Holmer Green ) were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

NATN
Lowestoft Town v Brackley Town
NATS

Looks as if ex-Royals keeper Dan Lincoln has moved on to Basingstoke Town though - had new young lad James Hamon in goal - just arrived on loan from Exeter City. Impressed for the 'lodgers'; Old stager Darren Purse pulling the strings  in their central defence. Another ex-Royals academy lad was brought on 1st Half and scored for the hosts too Shepherd Murombedzi - just joined from Nuneaton after spells at Oxford City & Banbury - then moved to Torquay where he made a good impression but was released along with many other younger players, when the Gulls suffered with serious financial problems.

What a strange thing to post.

W&E FC doesn't exist, but the club we follow (in my case support) are non league. The fact people rarely make posts about specific other non league clubs on here is hardly our fault. :D
