Season Ticket Prices for 2016/2017

In essence

East and Lower West prices remain the same

50 quid less for a North Stand ticket (will be £325).

Upper West prices will increase by £25 as the club are looking to offer a "‘more comfortable matchday experience" apparently - whatever that turns out to mean.

Renewals have to be completed by Friday 3rd June.

What are they trying to do with making the North cheap then?

Encourage families to come I suppose, just like a religion, indoctrinate them while they're young.

I can`t renew before 4th June because I officially become an old bastard at the end of August, I have no worries about losing my seat because I don`t think there will be an almighty clammer for STs, it my intention to wait till after my birthday then get my reduced rate ST.
However I`m not sure what the following statement means...All age-categories listed above relate to your age on 1st August 2016.

It means you don't qualify for an OAP ticket for another season.
There has always been a cut off date for the age related categories, it is not the date you buy the ticket that is relevant.

It may be worth going into the ticket office and asking if they would let you have the over 65 rate earlier. My mum turned 65 in October a few years back and they let her have it at the reduced rate when she renewed in June.

That's good advice, the TO are usually very helpful. If you've been a long term STH they may be flexible !

Check your new 'PURL' for your price - www.royalsmoments.co.uk

My Dad checked his earlier and was expecting an adult rate but he's been given the concession rate as a goodwill gesture.

STAR is pleased to see that in season ticket prices at Reading overall have been frozen again, with reductions in the North Stand to offset the increase in the Upper West.

We would like to have seen the youth age break shifted to 19-24 from 18-24 to take account of school leavers but welcome the promotion of free age 7 and under season tickets.

Isn't the difference only £36? Once you've finished school you shouldn't be paying child's price.

STAR seem to be pretty easily pleased. Inflation is basically zero so any increase would have been completely unjustified.

I thought we were living in a deflationary environment. A freeze in ticket prices is a real terms increase.

Oil prices: Down
Commodity prices: Down
Grocery prices: Down
Wages: Down
House Prices (Central London): Down

Ticket prices should be going DOWN

CPI running at 0.5% so a 5.9% increase on an Upper West STs seems perfectly reasonable.

But hey, we can look forward to a renovation in the catering facilities.
Now, does that mean more than one bloke trying to serve everyone and maybe not having to queue for 15 minutes to get a cup of tea from a polystyrene box that you find is stone cold once you get back to your seat?

I am also become an oldie after closing date, so I renewed anyway, and to my surprise I got the lower rate.

I'm sure if you asked the footballers to take a pay cut then we could reduce ST prices. The only inflationary measure of any relevance is what players earn and given Sky has utterly destroyed any realism in that area then football fans are essentially stuffed.
When was the last time we had a price rise on ST ? Take a look at inflation across that period and compare it to the stable ST prices....
