Booooo!

So I suppose we were planning on paying a proportion of his wages or we could have just taken him and waited the 8 weeks.

TBM
Uh-oh!!!!! Word I’m getting is the Gyan deal is off.

He has not passed his medical as the club believe it will be up to eight weeks before he is deemed fully fit.

More to follow.

8 weeks to get in shape?? It's almost as if he is much older than 30......

8 weeks to get fit and then 5 weeks away with Ghana for the ACN.....it'll be end of the season before he's playing for us

"8 weeks from fitness" = overweight, I guess.

Here's a picture of him arriving for his medical

Hopefully, we have been working on some back up targets then.

Oh well, 'failed medical' makes a refreshing change from the usual 'We made a very competitive offer but unfortunately it wasn't to be'!

It really won't

Shame about this but nothing ventured, nothing gained, let's hope it's a sign of willingness to get a decent striker in

Who was the last one to fail, was it Wright-Phillips?

Maybe we told him that we'd only sign him if he doesn't participate at AFCON...?

Jaap: You cannot play for Ghana
Asamoah: oxf*rd off

That was my best ever scoop - great early tip off on that one...then failed his medical.

Now scoring for fun in the MLS.

Perhaps explains his interest in Reading.

If it was a fee upfront but no proportion of wages, as suggested, then we still wouldn't want to be forking out a lump sum for a player who wouldn't be able to contribute for 6-8 weeks.

Whether it was wages or a lump sum doesn't really matter I guess, it's still us paying his current club for his services.

Deal off as previous poster says - failed medical. Now pretty much no striking force at all. Why didn't JStam prioritise this position
