Brentford (A) Predictions

by Royal_jimmy » 26 Sep 2016 13:35

Difficult game for us, Brentford are unbeaten at home in 6 months.

I think we will get a draw though. 1-1

Back down to earth with a 2-1 defeat.

But we'll do Derby at the weekend so our own home record will still be intact come next Monday.

We'll make a good go of it but I think Brentford will come out on top 2-1.

Don't see us getting another win on the bounce but we're also fairly solid now so I'll stick to my original result prediction but change the score to 1-1.

I think we can win this one. If we hog the ball for most of the match then Brentford are going to get frustrated, a gap will open up and we'll take advantage. Once we have got our noses in front we'll just carry on hogging it, play it around the back and run down the clock. Brentford won't be able to score if they never have the ball.

Brentford 0 Reading 1

Good to see probably their best player (Woods) is out.

Looking at their team, on paper this should be an easy away win.

But nothing is easy in the Championship.

hmm 8 games unbeaten at home, maybe it's not that great after all, still would take a draw.

Are you trying to win a "fit as many cliches as you can into one post" contest?

After a brief rest, I think it's time to get back to basics.

2-1 Reading
Swift and Harriott
VDB sees red on 39 minutes.
Brentford score around about 79 minutes
5 minutes injury time

Brentford have the tightest defence at home in the league - just 1 goal conceded. Take away our penalties and only Derby have scored fewer.

2-0

Maybe a spin off thread - what's the record for the most amount of consecutive games in which someone (of either team) has been sent off?

Its about 20 games going back to 1975 since Reading kept a clean sheet at Griffin Park.
so that's 1-0 to Reading then.
As long as that dirty b******* McShane gets his long overdue comeupence I could settle for that.
