Man Utd's cup final today-still only in 5th which is dire by the levels that they have reached over the past 20 years and that after buying the most expensive player in the world.

'greed only level with the Mighty Red's average position for the last ten years

I watched Real Madrid v Barcelona the other night.

Fantastic game of football.

And then I watched that pile of cack last night. As the season draws to a close is this what the scrap for Top 4 has resulted in? Or is it just the Mourinho effect?

They might have become hard to beat now, but if Man Utd carry on like this next season the fans will eventually turn against Mourinho. The flair they've got in that squad and yet week after week they produce boring draw-at-worst football.

Can't wait to see / hear the oxf*rd booed out of Old Trafford.

Thankfully I didn't watch but seeing the "highlights" on SSN it seems the only talking point is Fellaini's headbutt. Jose is claiming the red was harsh but he should be celebrating the fact that Fellaini is the first footballer for years to do a proper butt, as opposed to the usual rubbing of foreheads nonsense

He didn't though...he just put his head down to do the usual rubbing bollox
and they both walked into each other. I seem to rem Souness putting the
proper nut on someone but might be getting mixed up with Yosser Hughes

Fellaini put his head towards him threateningly as if to head butt him but with no real intention of doing anything more than a fanny rub, but Aguero did him like a kipper by moving slightly towards him ("crucially" not just his head) thus ensuring contact of a sort.

Was how I saw it. (Far too much thought has gone into the above.)

Funny though.

Pretty similar to how I saw it...the huge height difference is
the thing that makes it look so bad for FeLOLaini. He has to
look down

Aguero may win many awards in his career but I doubt a BAFTA will be one of them.

Fellaini was stupid and deserved a second booking but I reckon Aguero deserved a yellow for simulation.

I really don't see in that situation why the referee can't give a yellow for intent and a yellow for simulation. In a game where the referee's discression is allowed, it's one area where the application of the rule is very black and white.

At least they are banking the 3 points in these easier games as they have some tough fixtures to come.......

City's fixtures look decent for them, and they have a game in hand right at this moment, I think that result for Utd has given City a top 4 spot.

Utd need to hope Liverpool screw up if they want to finish top 4 I reckz. Still, Utd finishing 5th and winning the Europa League is probably best for the PL anyway, right?

With all these draws and unbeaten run is the view that Man Utd one goal away from being title challengers or one goal conceded from being utter shite and also rans?

Current team reminds me of Liverpool of the last 20 years. Decent
enough but hit the bar/post too often/keeper has a worldly/etc.

If only they'd gone in we'd be '...insert whatevever'

Moderate success is a real killer as you think you're onto something
when in reality you're prolly not.

I think we can safely assume that Luke Shaw (and maybe Smalling & Jones) will be playing no part in Mourinho's planning at Old Trafford next season :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39764470

"I think Luke Shaw's must be a big injury, because to leave the pitch after nine minutes, I am expecting a very big injury," said Mourinho.

"At the moment, we can walk from the bed to the toilet and break a leg."

And:

"I prefer not to speak about Phil Jones and Chris Smalling," added former Chelsea boss Mourinho. "I prefer to speak about Juan Mata giving everything to be available. I am grateful for that."

Yeah great way to manage...... have a go at your players for getting injured, Maybe he needs to look at his training methods as to why they are getting injured
