According to German media Barcelona have been teying to negotiate a fee to (re)sign Thiago, with Bayern saying no less than €90M. Thiago himself heard this and told Barca to do one having not shown faith in him before and has said he wants to sign a new contract at Bayern.

Theo Hernandez apparently on his way to Real Madrid for €24M rising to €35M. That also brings an end to the long standing agreement in place between Real Madrid & Atletico Madrid that they will not transfer players between the clubs. Spanish media reporting that Atletico contacted Barca once the bid came in and offered him to them for less but the player rejected it and would only join Real Madrid.

Harsh on Odegaard. He is only 18 and is widely tipped to be moved up to the RM first team this summer.

KerLOLon was never said to be good, he was a crazy kid with a crazy trick.

I wasn't trying to diss Odegaard, more questioning the wisdom of someone young making that sort of move.

With Kerlon, he was hyped to hell because of his seal dribble, the "New Ronaldinho" was one I saw quite frequently. All fine an dandy in age group games but he was quickly found out. Again, not dissing him as such, more a reflection on the hype in the search for the next Pele placed on any Brazilian kid with something a bit different in his skillset.

I'm not saying Vinicius Junior isn't the real deal but there's a hell of a lot of pressure and expectation placed on a kid. At least Neymar was 21, had over 100 first team games under his belt and was an established international before making his move to Barcelona.

Speaking of overhyped youngsters, I vaguely remember one that was a really young curly haired kid in the mid or early 90s maybe, ajax bought him I'm sure. Sonny something or other, who promptly had a nervous break-down and quit football. Even man city have been banned for buying a 11 year old for some money and 16 year old aswell. Madness that kids these young are being snapped up!

Interesting stuff from Football Leaks on Firmino's transfer and contract.

£29M paid by Liverpool, of which Hoffenheim only got £5.8M and the remaining £23.2M went to a company called Transfair which the Hoffenheim owner was part owner of but he 'withdrew his business interests' in that company just a few days after the transfer went through.

Firmino's contract is £68k a week basic with tierd goal bonuses - £25k for goals 1-5, £45k for goals 6-10, £65k for goals 11-15 and £85k for each goal more than 15 and he is also on a £30k bonus per assist

I would love to have a nose through footballers contracts. There are some crazy clauses in there.

Balotelli at Liverpool - For each year of his contracted that he was not red carded 3 times (for violent conduct, spitting, for using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures and/or for dissent) he would pick up a £1M bonus.

Schweinsteiger had a clause in his contract at Man Utd saying he would be docked 2 weeks wages each time he criticised the manager publicly.

and they claim Lavezzi is now the highest paid player in the world on £798,000 a week out in china. He moved there 15 months ago, scored 1 (one) goal and did this when having his official team photo taken

Ridiculous. And you then get League 2 and 1 teams barely surviving,. No wonder when this money could be given to them instead,

Football is a joke.
