genome Fulham reject £20m bid for Tom Cairney.

Twenty fcuking million

If this goes through to whoever it is I have got so far:

Man United bought somebody for 30
Pickford probably for 30
Lukaku will most likely go for 50+
Morata for 60odd
Cairney for 20
Real Madrid have got a 16 year old who has played 17 minutes for 20-30 million?
Man city keeper for 30 and left back for 40?

That's just the mental first weeks. This is going to be absolute crazy I can tell.

Mbappe reportedly going to be sold for 100m - now I know he looks good, but he only broke into the Monaco team at the start of the year!

Surprising yes but he would have been found out in the Premier League.

Andre Wisdom on his way to Derby for 4.5 Million. If true that's a very good signing. I just assumed Derby would buy 3 more strikers this summer.

Wasn't he one of the 'next big things' at Liverpool

Seems like you have to pay a £3M premium for any player that's come through a premier league club's academy even if their career appears to have totally stalled/never got going in the first place. £1-1.5M maybe but £4.5M is a nonsense.

The market's all over the place really.

Do transfer fees take into account the length of contract remaining/wages ?

I think a lot of clubs are just happy to push through deals for good prospects. Hes young (24 is young right?), home-grown, talented and has a good re-sale value. Liverpool probably figured 4.5 million is the most they can ask for while still sounding reasonable and probably attached some sell-on clauses.

Does Ilori have a sell on clause? He cost 4 million or so right?

I think its a fair enough price for a CB in the current scheme of things.

It does make £1m for Liam Moore look ridiculously good business.

I'd be interested to see how much Jake Cooper goes for.

Yeah that Liam Moore deal was quality. I cant believe how undervalued he was.

I stress that selling Cooper now would be a mistake but he should fetch a good 1.5 million which is why I thought Millwall would be priced out of it. I know that there are better defenders who go for small sums (Moore, Tripper (how did Burnley let him go so cheap????)) but a 22 y/o, 6ft5, left footed CB must be worth something.

Sadly if he does go well never know the price.

every year people say this and I think naaah, but this summer feels like something stupid is happening.

Top clubs in Europe will pay top money for the best players, but in the PL average to rubbish clubs will pay big money for average to rubbish players.

Instead of a lion on a trophy, maybe the PL could change it's logo to an image similar to that comedian throwing handfuls of cash up in the air

What has been the record spend for a transfer window? This one will most likely double it at this r8.

how do w@nky broadcasters and journalists even know what a player is transferred for anyway? these are private businesses making private transactions. agents & clubs have a vested interest in talking up or down the fees.

Tevez joined City for £25.5M....then it was £32M.....then it was £47M!!

Missed on opportunity to use your name there.
That premier league money is crazy. Didn't Sunderland earn more tv money than Bayern Munich last season? Or was that #fakenews.
