Mixed Grill Anyone?

by royalp-we » 26 Jun 2017 16:53

So I was driving down the a33 nr the stadium today and noticed a beefeater is in the process of being built on the hp site. This is fantastic news for the local community, the wider Reading area and hopefully means more booze and grub in the (fairly) close proximity to the ground.

Also noted the a33 going away from the stadium us undergoing works, can anyone confirm if they are making the exit route from Reading wider?

Regards,
Royalp-we

Say's it all when the news of a Beefeater is welcomed. Sorry state of affairs.

I've never actually set foot inside one of those places and to be perfectly honest I have absolutely zero inclination to ever do so.

Basically a Wetherspoons, different brand, smaller bar, better food.

Its a start anyway. Have you ever visited a spoons or anything similar CR, or wouldn't you stoop to that level?

Mate I oxf*rd love a spoons, £2.50 a pint. I'm all about that.

Try and stay outside as much as possible or normally be a bit drunk by the time I get there as let's be honest they smell rank.

Never eaten there though. Rate it?

Another place for the Whitley chavs to take their screaming little brats for food, might take a bit of pressure off the Trooper potts

The road works are for the bus lanes, which are going to be significant to us when REP is built and you can't park anywhere.

And TGI > Beefeater > Weatherspoon

Do we think that the proposed new Beefeater will be:

1) Decorated in RFC memorabilia (e.g. retro scarves, shirts and artwork)?
2) Names after something associated with RFC?
3) Be for home fans only?

That's what I'm expecting. Utter carnage when the likes of Leeds come down

They should look to relocate the Spread Eagle nearby. Brick by brick as well.

Awful places. Full of large families with sceaming babies and toddlers running around while the parents get p1ssed on litres of cheap chardonnay.

separate bar for over 18s with a huge screen for the footy. but avoid the restaurant at all costs , the above poster is spot on.

I'm not sure that actually answers No Fixed Abode's question. My suspicion would be no as it's still a fair walk and there's no buses. You'd be better off in one of the Spoons in town where you can get a bus direct. Then again I guess there's plenty of fans living in Whitley for which it would be ideal
