Hoop Blah What a mess, and what a shame too.

It's all too easy for things like this to happen of course but I always hope that people don't react quite so bitterly but it's an emotional time when the shit hits the fan.

I wonder where Stefan Brown is off to. I can't imagine he'll be short of offers.

EDIT: From a quick read around it looks like Boardman and McDonald have been let go as opposed to walking out as I first thought when reading the news. Sounds like tough times ahead.

Was speaking Jon Boardman about this last night and they did not walk, he is gutted, how I understand it is, It was all financial, there was a three man management team, they have kept on the only one who had a contract and therefore would require a pay off. The chairman has been putting in £150k + of his own money each season and cant keep doing it. There is going to be a bit of a meltdown there, shame as they were punching well above their weight.
Still heading there on the 10th of March for the Chelmsford game.

Interesting wally, thanks for the info.

A shame that the money couldn't be kept until the end of the season to let them fight off the threat of relegation and leave the management and players in a better position to sort out their next moves come the end of the season.

Gutted for those involved after all the hardwork and success they've had. It has to be sustainable though I guess and if the commercial side isn't generating enough to help foot the bill then a sticky ending is never too far away.

They are expecting about 1k apparently. It will be packed. Capacity can't be much more than that as it is quite narrow, especially behind the goals. I am planning to be in ( the bar) by 2pm latest just in case.

Probably wildly inaccurate but the most I think I've seen at Bracknell was about 1000 for the Barnet game in the 4th Round qualifying of the FA Cup about 10 years ago.

Presumably Marske will bring a fair few as well. Nice tidy sum for the club on the day though whatever the outcome. Does the gate money get split with the opposition?

Hopefully Marske will agree to play extra time if its needed as a trek up there midweek would be a killer for any club at this level.

There will be Extra Time if needed and the replay would be the following Saturday.

Extra Time is standard, its just the Penalties bit that both clubs have to agree on.

You can get a couple of thousand in easily. Really hoping they can get a 4 figure attendance, would be awesome for the club.

I'm not so sure Old Man. Some websites quote the capacity at 2,500 but the ground is apparently a Grade E ground and didn't get a D, but that could just be down to the number of seats, not the total capacity.

I'm tempted to pop along on Saturday as well.

You wouldn't want much more than a thousand in there in its current layout. Those standing wouldn't be very comfortable or see much. I went last day of the season last season and it wasn't exactly comfortable with 500 in.

There was over 750 there that day. Can fit 1000 easy.

Alan Paris replaced at Burnham by Paul Shone. It took a while but I actually got to like Alan! Although as I stand near the dugouts at the Gore it will be nice to get my hearing back!

So more developments on goings on at Bulpit Lane. The club has called a fans forum on thursday which should be tasty. Stefan Brown has also tweeted today he's not leaving and he doesn't know why the story was posted. Despite him tweeting confirming it at the time

Tony Le Mesmer Planning on doing one of the Vase ties this weekend as well. Either going to Melksham or Bracknell. Bracknell will be the better game I think, but its not a 'tick'.

What is the capacity at Bracknell? Cant be much more than 1500 surely there is very little room around the pitch? Might be an old fashioned lock out.

Get there early as car parking near the ground will be at a premium. Also, the capacity is much reduced from five years ago following the awful redevelopment of the ground. No terracing, only narrow strips of tarmac.

There is FREE parking at Bracknell and Wokingham College. Obviously the earlier you get there the better. The bus and train station is only a 10 min walk as well.

- for any 'Kingfisher' fans (or others) thinking of travelling to Oakfields, the Postcode is given as SN12 7GU - which is pretty new - so not much use on any mapping systems I've looked at, as most of the roads in the area are less than 2 years old - might be OK for updated SatNav systems. The nearest valid code on Google Maps is SN12 7FT but leads into the Housing estate opposite.
- I went not long after the ground opened and it is on the SE part of the 'ring road' - best accessed from the A3102 Sandridge Common road in from Calne - if you go cross-country. Follow signs for 'Through Traffic (A365) (A350)' - Continue on the ring and the sports complex is visible off to the left ...

- got over to Foxcotte on Tue night to see the top table clash Andover New St 1-0 Tadley Calleva - which saw ANS grab back top spot. Deciding goal very late in the game - almost three figure crowd.
- Tadley had the prolific Brett Denham restored up front - apparently he 're-signed' at the start of this season - he was registered for Thatcham but not sure if he still turns out for them. He ploughed a bit of a lone furrow for the visitors who were unable to pierce a strong ANS rearguard.
- nice to see perennial wooden-spooners now right up the top and fighting for honours.

... and natch best wishes for 'our' intrepid Hellenic sides tomorrow - nice to imagine that all three might progress and guarantee a League presence at Wemberlee. Trouble is they will all have to overcome pretty fearsome opponents to achieve that.

Quite likely. But that also seemed the likely outcome away to Flackwell Heath, Erith Town, Walton and Hersham and Eastbourne Town but we won all of those in 90 mins.

When the inevitable defeat happens, I will look forward to your pointless ramble on how other wage bills are unsustainable and how other teams have more money.

Ex Reading Academy player, teenager Jack Denton (below) is the star of the team.

I’m sure the kit will get a few comments of derision from the hardy Northern sorts. Bring it on.

It is worse that Dulwich. Dulwich's problem is more the choice of colour rather than design.

But nonetheless good luck to Windsor, Bracknell and Thatcham...

No accounting for taste etc.

Echoing the good luck sentiments....on the off-chance of all three winning their ties, then a local team Wembley trip is on on on.
