Tractor boys have announced a ticket promotion, £12 (£8 concessions)

https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-new ... ETDIq2HAjE

Anyone know why you can`t get a direct train service from London for that day?

I'd wait to double check they are replicating that for away fans before booking trains

See what you`re saying, but it does say all areas of Portman road.

As for the trains I`m getting this when I look up train tickets.. I thought there were direct services from Kings cross and Liverpool street.

Ipswich have confirmed it for away fans as well, so fair play.

Definitely IN.

Fair play to Ipswich for such good pricing, hopefully we can bring a decent following to Portman Road

Fairly obvious to me- engineering works on the London- Ipswich line that day- hence the bus leg. Same as Stoke away in March engineering work between Banbury and Leamington Spa means i`m going via London Euston.
Edit for Ipswich try going from London via Cambridge/ Ely doesn`t look like engineering on that line

Most weekends there are engineering works on that line disrupting services. You could go via Cambridge but that's a bit of a faff that would require changes at Cambridge and possibly Ely as well. Anyway, in for this one.

Yeah, engineering works on the Liverpool St line most weekends due to Crossrail. Still quicker to go this route than via Cambridge. They are well practised at the bus and train changes so it should work without a glitch - long old tube ride out to Newbury Park though.

Ipswich pricing is always absolutely god awful so this is definitely a big incentive to go.

OUT.

Cheap train tickets. 12 quid for a ticket. Plenty of reasonable pubs near the ground. IN all day long. Important game.

Hmmm, I had to do this one season (in the white kit with green shorts when we lost 2-1 (2010?)) and it was pretty horrendous. Think there was torrential rain leading to a fallen branch on the tracks as well leading to being stranded in the middle of nowhere and getting back at 11pm

Easier to drive. Bought our tickets yesterday. You get the choice of front rows in the upper tier, or back rows of the upper tier.

We opted for the back rows!

900 sold so far. Expecting more if we beat Rotherham. Think the usual allocation is 1900.

That's right. Our initial allocation is 1,100. Looks like these will go, so we will up it to the maximum of 1.900 I would imagine.

In x3.

I'll also be driving as the trains look a bit tricky for this one. Will be easier by car.
