windermereROYAL So our time wasting worked. because Norwich were winning at the end of normal time you have to wonder why the ref added that much?

Indirectly, I guess yeah. But let’s be honest no one wastes time in the hope that more is added so they can get a goal.

added time is added time no matter who is winning. The ref should stop his watch when there is a delay. Slightly bizarre comment that

Anyway, they wasted a couple of minutes celebrating their goals. We actually wasted very little time at all - Martinez a little bit, but not really. Seen a hell of a lot worse

Yeah I think we were at loftus road once I remember their keeper placing the ball down for a goal kick, picking it up, jog walked to the other side of the box (that movement where it looks like your jogging but you’re actually moving slower than if you were walking), put it down, waited, then picked it up and back to the other side. Repeated the process 4 or so times. Obviously the ref thought it was perfectly acceptable.

well yeah. And some of the shit Wigan were getting up to in our home game. Diving all over the place, feigning head injuries constantly etc

Royal Rother Norwich looked a really good team last night. It really could / should have been the absolute drubbing we were all expecting.

I’ll take a battling point against the top team away all day long but let’s not kid ourselves about just how big the gulf between the teams was.

You didn’t need to write all that, you only need to look at league table to see it ain’t rocket science but hey don’t let a point ruin a must needed negative post.

His post is entirely accurate.

Apart from being redundent because no one is kidding themselves of anything

Guy in the crowd threw the ball up at 91, probably didn't help them, wasted another 30 seconds

For the record, the coverage on Quest was a disgrace, conveniently showed Norwich's two penalty appeals yet neglected our one on Gunter which was almost identical to Pukki's

Strange stat - we haven't won back to back games all season, yet we've only lost back to back games once since October - and we had 10 men for 80 minutes in that one

Ipswich 1-2 Reading
Reading 3-2 Wigan

Only the once, though

Ipswich 1-2 Reading (Barrow in the 98th minute)

Reading 3-2 Wigan (Barrow 89, Meite 97)

and Barrow assists Meite at Norwich, then Rhino scores in 96th

But last minute(s) goal at Ipswich, last minutes at home to Wigan, yesterday... that's five points extra (at the death) in 5 weeks

We so easily could be on 36 points right now. Brilliant that we are not, but small margins etc...

Martinez was flirting with a red. He was booked for time wasting and persisted to do it.
It worked in our favour in the end.
Pooh Key also had a problem which he appeared to run off but Moores was more serious. Quite a bit of time lost there.

First time I've seen a keeper booked for the first bit of time wasting he's done.

Usually against us the ref will point to his watch and wave at the keeper at least five times before he even contemplates a booking.

Ive just noticed something about their second goal.....Sorry if its been mentioned already.....but it shouldn't have stood.
Watch the video and in the top right left corner near the corner flag, their substitute was warming up on the field of play......which meant the corner should have been retaken and the sub warned.......
Waste of time I know but worth a mention.

It's added time not additional or indeed extra time (the latter only applies in knockout scenarios!). Why do so many people struggle to understand that there is never more than 90 minutes of actual 'play' (the ball is always in play for far less than that).

Norwich fans would've been bitching like mad had they been chasing an equaliser/winner and the ref hadn't added time to compensate for that lost through stoppages.

I really don't understand why the authorities don't make it easier for everyone - have the ref stop and start a clock(s) that are clearly visible to everyone. When the clock hits 90 minutes everyone knows the game has run for its full duration.

Dead right. I guess that cancels out Gunter punching the ball whole still in play.
