Victor Meldrew Interesting that you included Lindgard in your list of not good enoughs-I have never seen why he has been selected so often for club and country and, although a completely different type of player,is IMHO in the same category as Eric Dier.

I'm no fan of Lingard but, like quite a few of that United squad, he's a decent enough player and can be very effective at times and he's worthy of a place in a squad chasing the top 4 or making a title challenge.

Like many of those squad players, he needs to be in the right environment and being used in the right way, ie probably not a first choice for the big games.

There's a big refresh needed of that squad, and probably more in attitude than ability.

Just too inconsistent, but puts the work rate in and is mobile can keep the ball moving etc and does pick up some good positions

Eric Dier has been using the same canteen as Luke Shaw

Uke
Royal Rother Yep, at circa £25m a year wages Sanchez has to go down as one of the worst pieces of business ever done in football.

Following the Liverpool path - club had a legacy, make some fairly awful decisions with managers/players and slip away needing a massive rebuild whilst others overtake them. This summer will decide if they are able to get back to the top 4 or if they are at risk of being caught by Wolves, Leicester or Everton.

Already been 6 years since their last title - probably going to be at least 6 more until they can have a sustained tilt at it.

There's still a decent squad in there somewhere, but there looks to be some bad apples in there that's destroyed their previously very strong mentality (perhaps it's the Fergie effect, or lack of it).

They could turn things around pretty quickly with the money they have to invest but it looks more likely that they'll struggle, at least until the sort out the mentality throughout the club.

I saw a bit of an odd post by Sanchez via his Instagram. Looked a bit like a goodbye, and a bit like a shifting the blame for his form onto everyone else but himself.

I guess the real difference for Utd now is - can they attract the players needed to get into the Top 4 again, at the moment only the wages are likely to tempt a player and even then - it'll be the ones that City/Liverpool don't want or are happy not to be in the CL.

They are lucky in the regards that one of their main top 4 rival has a transfer ban which may help them going forward.

Paul Pogba looks set to be a huge 'what might have been' at United. And he's had two bites at it. Clearly a hugely talented player, probably top-10 in the world on his day and might win a Ballon D'Or in the future, but only if he gets his head in the right place.

In what way? They have the 2nd lowest wage bill and massively underacheived, so the cost per point is high as they barely got any.

I guess some people might've thought they had the lowest wage bill and then compare their position with Cardiff.

Cardiff got more than twice as many points. That will seriously affect the maths.

Caught the clip of Becks pinging it around the pitch in the charity game v Bayern yesterday. I know it’s a glorified friendly with older players but the man can still play.

Reminds me of when I saw Dylan Kerr at the Parky's testimonial. He could've done a job in the current side

I like your balanced input but that one’s a bit nuts.
