Ok, so Charlton fans going down in my estimations with the clowns claiming to be a bigger club than all those suggested.

Do me a favour. Maybe 20 years ago.

Of course they're not bigger than any of the teams mentioned there...but if I was a Charlton fan, with the exception of Preston, I'd be questioning how big the difference is between the likes of us and Charlton and whether or not it's worth him moving to a *similar stature club

Blackett hasnt done too much wrong since Jose came in, but if you decide to hate someone no decent performances will never change that.

This would be very good news if this did happen. Bauer is a strong ball winning tall (6ft3) centre back. For those who didn’t know. Would be a great partner for Moore.
He has been far to good for league 1 for the last couple of seasons and I suggested we signed him last year.

On a free transfer we definitely should be looking at him. And if we are not they are crazy this is the best option we will get for little money.

I really hope this one is true

A whoosh for you for completely missing the blindingly obvious TV show reference.

Iirc they paid around £1.5m.

Interestingly the statistically most similar CB this season has been.... Rob Dickie

Looks on paper to be a good signing for whoever gets him. Can see why we would be interested

Oh yeah, if they can hang around in the Champ for a couple of seasons we're pretty similar, and if we go down at the same time, clearly it changes.

I don't know the ins and outs but aren't Charlton in a bit of a state with their owners etc? Or has that been resolved?

Cheers m8, thx for the info.
He sounds like a good fit to fill our need at CB, esp given our finances.
If we get Eza on a free too, we could then route what little money we have to buy Nelson, then sign Eja and Martinez on loan again (those 2 seem the most likely?), and then get a couple of Portuguese players in cheap. Sorted!

So, you see, in the 2000s there was this big successful American TV series called 24 - was shown on the BBC over here - and the lead character's name was Jack Bauer....

Hope haven't I ruined it by explaining for those not interested in TV (or too young to know  )
