John Smith How bad are Middlesbrough?! Their last win was when they beat us back in September and they have a stack of tough games coming up.

If they fail to beat Barnsley at home on 27th November, does Jonathan Woodgate go?

Almost certainly. A club like that he's probably already on borrowed time.

You can tell the axe is near when they start losing the plot - he's recently been suggesting criticism on social media has been coming from Newcastle and Sunderland fans, not Boro fans

Not exactly rivals but Phil Parkinson is making a right dogs ear of the Sunderland job, P8 W2 D1 L5.
And some people wanted him here.

Almost, but not quite! They’ve actually only lost 2 that matter with Parky in charge. 1 at high flying Wycombe in his very first game and the other at a useful Shrewsbury a week later following a 5-0 win over Tranmere. The other defeats were actually a draw in the league cup (lost in penalties) and two likely “reserve” or experimental games in the “Simod cup” equivalent.

The next few will probably decide it for Sunderland fans with a trip to the Gills in the FA Cup and visits from Coventry and Burton in the league then another trip to the Gills followed by Blackpool and Bolton at home.

Utter drivel: "only lost 2 that matter" - every game matters, if you are happy to lose a game then you aren't a supporter. "a useful Shrewsbury" - they're mid-table! I think it's high time you took off the rose-tinted Parky specs before you make yourself look even more silly.

URZZZZ Thinking about penalties, when was the last time we actually scored a penalty? Surely it’s not Millwall (H) in October 2018?

Feels like we never ever get a penalty nowadays

Plymouth away

Are you talking about the same Shrewsbury with one defeat in eight? Against Wycombe away who subsequently went top after that game? That Shrewsbury, right?

For the record, there aren't many people that care about the EFL trophy and you can tell if you actually looked at the attendances

Meant in the league

There's only been two penalties awarded at the Madejski the whole of 2019. One for us against Cardiff, one against us for Swansea. They're only allowed to give penalties against Welsh teams...

Let's face it, league games are the only ones that really matter, especially at that level.

I just feel, especially at this level, goals change games.

It's not irrelevant though is it  once again you've got something wrong. First up, you question when our last penalty was, I answer with Plymouth. You then move the goalposts and say 'in the league' then you come out with a 'fact' which is wrong also. :| wasn't it only last week other's were calling you out for some other bullshit?

Yeah Urzzzz has had a horrible month of posting, constantly wrong and arguing against facts. Feel quite sorry for him in all honesty.

There’s a difference in making a mistake (this example) and being a fool...your comment was just really not needed. That’s the gist of it

You've completely contradicted yourself there because in those eight games you mention, that takes into account a game in the EFL Trophy.
Maybe you can stop posting on this forum and move to the Shrewsbury one, do everyone a favour.

That’s not the point though is it? If you lose 1 game in 8 (whatever the competition) generally you’re considered to be on decent form and so a defeat away at them for Sunderland isn’t that’s surprising

The EFL trophy games aren’t that important though. You still want to see your side win in them but how many times do you see supporters say “losing in the cup isn’t that bad a thing so we can concentrate on the league”. So yeah, whilst Parkinson isn’t doing a great job so far, you have to factor in he’s only taken charge of 4 league games where managers are mostly judged on and in those he’s accumulated 6 points which isn’t a disaster

What are you talking about? They didn't lose 1 game in 8. Prior to the Sunderland game they had only won once in 5 games. I think you might want to go and lie down. This thread is about our rivals - Sunderland nor Shrewsbury are so let's keep on subject shall we, rather than descending in your drivel.
