I don't think he goes yet no. Pressure will be on though.

As I've posted elsewhere, the locals are sympathetic to Parky as a person, but think he's simply not up to it.

1) Surely they need to put him out of his misery now and address the situation as early as possible?
2) Did we dodge a bullet?

I never wanted him at RFC - he's got legend status that could only be ruined by the eventual and inevitable sack.

Out of interest, does anyone know how many managers in English football have retired of their own accord ? I've worded this to avoid the ones that leave to go to another club (e.g. Pardew, Rodgers (from Celtic I mean))
Ferguson (although there seems to be some doubt as to whether he was persuaded)
…. now I'm struggling
Dario Gradi, possibly

Maybe my memory is fading in my senior years, but it seems that a manager sacking is the almost universally accepted way of the football world.

I know he went on to work in India, but Coppell resigned from Bristol City saying that he would retire, his last managerial role in UK.

It is a real struggle to think of even a handful though, isn't it ?

Oh for sure, no doubt about that. With pay-offs that managers get, there is no real reason anyone would just resign. Just stay there until your club pay you off.

Going back a little I believe Bill Shankly, Bill Nicholson, Bob Paisley and Bobby Robson all chose to retire but usually names just fade away from the managerial world eg Ron Atkinson, Ron Saunders, Trevor Francis, Glenn Hoddle, George Graham etc.

At least one of your 'fade away' set publicly retired while Hoddle, after Wolves, decided to go more into his Football Academies. He's not retired per se, but focuses on them (and punditry).

Rumours that Woodgate will be sacked by Boro this week and replaced by Warnock.

Fair play to Boro. Taking relegation seriously.

We really messed up not winning up there.

Tbf, it was only a MotM performance from their 'keeper which stopped us getting a result.

Presuming Mr Warnock really doesn’t decide to retire

Mrs Warnock probably has other ideas about retirement.
