Am I the only person who doesn't get the Alisson love? Not sure I remember him having a remarkable season?

He was voted the best 'keeper in the Premier League last year with 21 clean sheets and the best 'keeper in the Champions League. So in answer to your question, yes you are probably the only one.

Clean sheets are not all about the keeper, many other factors come into it. I would argue that Liverpool would have kept the same amount of clean sheets with any decent enough keeper between the sticks. I am not saying for a second Alisson isn't among the elite keepers in world football btw, just don't think he is as important to Liverpool as is made out.

you are recycling old waste arguments and claiming it is more about his environment than him

Winston Biscuit Also lol @ Lloris being in there

He isn't even the best keeper at Spurs ffs.

I imagine he's on there because he captained his country to a World Cup, not because of Spurs

Edit: Wait... that was last year... nevermind

Indeed.

12 out of the top 20 play in the Premier League. Only 4* from La Liga.

*Could argue it's only 2, with de Jong and Hazard's votes probably based on their previous club form.

Rapinoe would get it, big time. Looks like an absolute animal in bed too.

I'm with him. She looks like she would oxf*rd your brains out. Didbt deserve to win the award though. Better players out there. But that's not what this award is actually about is it..

On the whole Alisson thing hes a properly great keeper. Yes Oblak is probably better but Liverpool would have shipped a lot more goals if they had one of their previous wasters in the net. He is, imo, the best signing they made since Suarez. Hot take I know. Also there was a sex tape that went round that was reportedly him with 3 models and a lot of cocaine. When I thought it was him he went up very high in my estimations.

Messi wins again. Which seems ridiculous after the year Lewandowski has had.

Salah in 7th. Should be above Messi imo.

Messi only won because he is the fifa golden boy.

Third time Messi has won it over more deserving players. Sneijder and Iniesta in 2010, Van Dijk in 2019 and now Lewandowski.

The winner isn't chosen by FIFA.

But would agree with Winst, I'd have voted for Lewandowski, who now has 128 goals in his last 107 games for Bayern, back to the start of the 2019-20 season. And 30 assists.

All voted for by journalists, isn't it? I would imagine that Lewandowski gets very few votes from South American journalists.

Sure, albeit you'd expect that to balance out with votes from European journalists, to some extent.

Although tbf I got my awards mixed up. Is it 'The Best' that is voted for by the players themselves.
