Yeah no VAR cock-ups this weekend.

Interesting to see the red card overturned. Though it isn't going to be long before on-field yellow cards are also overturned. And quite rightly if the FA are already saying they are happy to correct the decisions of the refs, why are yellow cards exempt? A defender on a yellow card against a quick striker has to play very differently, and sometimes managers make subs on the back of yellows, so it has a big impact.

Now we're acknowledging linos are redundant, we may as well jump fully into this and look at every single important ref decision. Its not fair otherwise.

My pet hate is the handball situation.

Defender has the ball hit hand - can clear it, no action
Attacker has ball merely touch a part of arm or hand, even without changing the direction or speed of the ball and it's 'Nope, that's not allowed'.
I'm all for consistency and this isn't.

Also, the fact that we're celebrating the first 'no VAR cock-ups' weekend in DECEMBER is nothing short of a disgrace.

If VAR is going to continue, one way they can improve it is getting rid of the ridiculous handball rule, whoever thought that would be a good idea!

Which one of yesterday’s decisions has riled you ?
Presumably the Villa one

Interesting VAR didn't overrule the Everton goal. Had the ref actually seen it, that would normally have been disallowed. The commentators all seemed surprised it stood, I guess De Gea just didn't protest at the time and make the VAR check specific

Didn’t think much of the decision to overrule Mane’s goal either.

That’s not a good example of the ridiculous handball rule as Antonio moved his hand to the ball :|

Aren’t all goals checked ?

Well he was offside.

I did enjoy VAR showing later in the game that Salah was onside for his second goal because a Watford defender was sticking his arse out.

Two major errors by Taylor correctly changed.
Son has previous don't forget.

You can’t compare the two

On the one today, was probably a red card but I wouldn’t have given it just because of how Rudiger reacted. It’s just quite sad and pathetic how footballers act these days, they spend more time on the floor than anything else. Just ruining a good game

That was not on purpose.

Roy Keane has "previous "

Son does not.

Those are 2 different points.
I don't disagree that the way players act is spoiling the game-they argue (rightly or wrongly) that they need to exaggerate an incident to make sure that the ref sees a foul.
When players stay on their feet they often don't get a free kick when they have been the victim of a foul.

What Son did was petulant, in the way that the idiot Beckham did the same and arguably cost us any chance of success back whenever it was.
The petulance and intent were well worth a red card.
Rudiger then doubly suffered, firstly from whatever (minor?) pain there was and secondly because he was then apparently racially abused.

Not a great afternoon all round on a day when Chelsea's football was to be admired but the level of performance will now get lost.

.but you said he has previous when he doesn't. Because against Everton he did not mean it.
