Royal Tezza The thing that really strikes me is how the social media mobs made out they were proper devastated that Gomes got given the axe.

Real fans are too busy going to watch their team. Not sitting in their armchairs following social media.

At the end of the day. Under Gomes the team on the day underwhelmed in terms of performance. Refinement is something that should come later. Once the core base is built.

And posting on here, apparently.

No offence all :D but I get the impression the social media types are much younger than us on here, most of the regular posters have clearly been following the club for decades. My point was more just that even if Gomes improved things a bit, it's really quite sad that people felt that strongly about him given his record - how would they have felt when Coppell left or MCD got the chop?! Proper managers that built success over the club over a period of years

Personal view. Something was amiss. At the end of the day the team on the pitch does the talking. Not the managers words.

Hendo Nominated for Manager of the Month of December.

Up against Woodgate, Bielsa and Rowett

All got 11 points except Woodgate who got 13, so I expect Woodgate to win it

If Brum had been in November and Fulham in December, I'd have said Bowen. But they weren't so Woodgate would be fair

Quite happy for Woodgate to get it. We've got a tricky month ahead, last thing we need is to be struck down by the MOTM curse.

I’m surprised it’s only one year.

Yep. Now that you mention it. Not a bad example to follow.

Can’t argue with the extension, well deserved and I think an extra year is right at this stage

Assistant Manager Eddie Niedzwiecki and First Team Coach John O’Shea have also signed new deals, Goalkeeping Coach James Bittner will continue in his role with the first team until the end of the current campaign.

So, are the Portuguese backroom staff still with Reading or have they left (to join Gomes?)

Want the fitness coach still here? Thought he was in a picture.

Surely there isn’t a single reading fan out there now who doesn’t think sacking Gomes was the right decision? The amount of bedwetters on here at the time was an embarrassment. The guy was a fraud. Finally we have a manager who understands how to play in the championship.

Sadly there is. Listen to BBCRB and they still get the odd caller moaning about how it was wrong the way Bowen got the job and Gomes might have turned it around, or the tones on some of the tweets when we get a good draw and they moan about Bowens management and team selection.
They seem to forget just how bad we were. I'm struggling to remember a run as good as this so starved we have been of good results and decent football and fight/spirit in the team.
