The Emirates FA Cup quarter final draw will take place on Wednesday 4 March after the Sheffield Wednesday v Manchester City fifth round tie.

Hosted by Mark Chapman and conducted by Martin Keown and Chris Waddle, the draw will be broadcast live from Hillsborough on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 9.50pm (subject to extra time and penalties).

The quarter finals are scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 21 March, with winning clubs collecting £720,000 from our prize fund.

Scheduling been a nightmare too, chucking Liverpool’s game during their winter break and having the 5th round in midweek. Think a rethink may be needed for this next year

No team should be given the benefit of technology when others don’t. It should be an even playing field. Sheffield Wednesday, for example have been knocked out the competition to an offside goal, yet if the game was to be played at the Etihad, the goal wouldn’t have stood. How is that fair?

Your Mike Dean example is a poor one and completely irrelevant to what I was saying but I’m not surprised in all honesty

Did we get used to the scheduling? Do you think it’s particularly fair that we had 3 days before our last game and Sheffield had 10 days to prepare? Or do you think it’s particularly fair that we had to play 5 league games, yet in the same time period, they only had 1 league game in the build up to the game? Hence our players more fatigued then theirs

By taking Sheffield United to extra time, Reading lasted longer in the 5th round than any other non PL club, therefore, technically, you could say Reading got the furthest of all the clubs outside the PL in this year’s competition..

Attendances have been a problem for a while though to be fair

The problem is unless you’re playing one of the top teams, no one really wants to watch their reserve team which is how most teams nowadays treat the FA Cup

It’s a tough one and something that was mentioned on here in detail about how many changes should be made as there are clear positives and negatives to both views. However, with the way it is and teams making 11 changes each time, it does degrade the value each year, which is emphasised by the dwindling attendances
