tidus_mi2 Let's see how we bounce back against Preston, 5 days of recovery so we should be more fresh and also have Meite and Ejaria available to us.

Let’s hope both are fit. We need them. The bench was lacking options tonight. Puscas should also have come on a lot earlier. I think he should be starting alongside Joao.

We looked 'comfortable' until Cov scored their third and then we got a bit desperate - with five mins to go - and started to show some bite and urgency.

Just lacking the *intensity* today..... no-one comes out of that with any credit (apart from a sublime Joao finish.)

Good kick up the backside needed on that showing ... and I'd love to hear Porno giving it some hardcore BDSM to the team.

yuomi Everything that was good at Blackburn was awful tonight. Bad tackling, bad passing, Rafael's concentration going walkabout, Semedo reverting to the performance he put in against Rotherham and Aluko back to his old self.

Credit to Coventry for the win, but they were far from good and there for the taking, we just didn't turn up. Looked tired all round and Puscas should have been on 10 minutes earlier. Hopefully Moore's knock isn't serious.

I don't think it was that awful ,,, we just conceded two very sloppy goals and didn't put our chances away. I actually think we played better than against Rotherham or Wycombe ... but that's football.

Two home games ahead after a long week on the road. I’ve no doubt at all that the players will want to get a result on Tuesday - tried to the very end and never gave up. That’s all you can ask for.

They’ll analyse those goals in detail and come back stronger. Credit to Coventry - but we weren’t being overrun at all. Dust off that blip; it really was a blip and you could still see the quality in our team compared to them at the 95th minute.

Agreed with all this. No way should Aluko be starting - fair enough having him on the bench as an option but he is soo wasteful and responsible for a ridiculous amount of attacks failing apart.

Snowflake Royal LOL @ all you bedwetting melts having a cry because we've lost one game almost a quarter of the way into the season and might have our lead at the top of the league cut a bit after one slightly lacklustre performance.

Nice one Ian.

+1 on the sentiment
However it is worth noting that your reference to "bedwetters" gives you more in common with OMA than either of you may be comfortable with

Most sensible post tonight.

We are top of the league
We are CLEAR at the top of the league
We have a number of injuries
Coventry had 5 bookings to our none.
We have played more away games than home games, yet are TOP.
NO ONE on here would have predicted we would be top after 9 games. NO ONE.

Calm DOWN.

But this thread is about the game against Coventry, not what has happened prior, which no single person can moan at, but TONIGHT we were sloppy, slow and full of errors.

Exactly

Seems some people don’t want to hear any criticism

Happy to hear criticism, just not whining like we're bottom of the league and the wheels are off.

Fair, enough.

Although if I were OMA I'd say

Who even are you. You know nothing and you are nothing. oxf*rd off, can't take being disagreed with or entering into a debate. What a pussy.

Zip Well done George. Should have started.

Instead of who though?

There really wasn’t much that Paunović could have started with differently. Obviously the time he was brought on is another discussion in itself though

Olise and Aluko were dreadful. I’d have replaced one of them at half time and the other 10 minutes later if they hadn’t improved

Don’t agree with them being dreadful but they didn’t create enough, set pieces in particular were poor

Could have done with another attacking option off the bench though

I would have liked a change of formation tonight and played two upfront against a side in desperate form.
Puscas is playing well and deserves to start.
I would have started him ahead of Aluko

Good points. We were far too meek tonight. We should have gone for them.

Think they’ve both started the season pretty well, both putting in a decent shift against Watford, and then Puscas has one more start against Rotherham where he struggled a bit

I don’t think Aluko/Olise were necessarily the problem tonight. Performance wise, we very much stayed at a similar level to other games this season. The difference being is that we weren’t as clinical tonight and our goalie made two errors he doesn’t usually make
