I've already come to terms with the early exit so anything else will be a bonus.

Who the hell is going to be the creative force without Grealish, Mount or Foden ?

I hope Saka has a worldy

Sanguine
Royal Rother I think it's pathetic team selection but pretty much what we should have expected.

Maybe it'll work brilliantly but if we don't come through this game Southgate will deserve all the clown headlines in tomorrow's papers that will surely come his way.

So very disappointing to go into a game like this without (arguably) our 4 most creative players in Mount, Grealish, Foden and Sancho.

The two best bits about this - if we win, Southgate probably still won't get any credit, and that he did it anyway. Not the team I'd have picked, but if it works he's a genius.

Looks like a clear and pragmatic plan.

No delusion that we'll dominate possession, instead loads of pace on the flanks to counter. Which is exactly where the Germans have been really weak.

Don't see much wrong with it. And do think it plays to England's strengths. It's not like all these creative twinkle toes have done much creating.

The guy lying down behind the wall is not a good idea

effectively reducing the numbers that can deal with anything other than the initial strike

Doesn't mean a game can't be too big for him. Lot of pressure to anchor the midfield against a side like Germany.
