It was on Twitter and made me smirk.

Someone posted something about you not liking ITV, yesterday. I can find it back if you like.

Ah it was the Gary Linekar reference that threw me.

Yes I'm not a fan of ITV in general that's true.

I did lol at Matterface begging people to watch the final on ITV at the end of his commentary. Not happening.

Lol, same. I heard that and thought to myself, no oxf*rd way.

I mean the BBC alternative isn't great but it is far superior to Matterface. So is being deaf.

It’s not just the comms though, it’s the studio and buildup that BBC is vastly superior to itv as well.

Yeah thats true. I mean Lineker has his faults but he is far better than that nondescript bloke on ITV. Also enjoyed Jurgen Kilnsmann's contribution on the BBC coverage.

Absolutely. I thought Lampard was pretty good on Saturday as well, would imagine it’ll be the same trio + Gary.

Thankfully won't have to sit through those Just Eat and Qatar airways adverts again, plus those vanilla families cosying around the TV. Always most annoying once the teams are out and the anthems finished we have to put up with one more set of those immediately before kick off.

Very true re: adverts. Once itv cut away to an ad-break after the game, it felt like the enthusiasm went out of it, whereas you wouldn't get that with BBC.

At least Matterface can tell Sterling and Saka apart. Its a bar so low its underground, but it puts him higher than our own Dim Tellor.

Not sure if mentioned before, but an interesting counterpoint to all those who claim England only won through a soft penalty decision.

The Danish goal should have been disallowed.

The reason?

The Law states:

"Where three of more defending team players form a wall, all attacking team players must remain at least 1 metre from the wall until the ball is in play".

The Danes formed a wall, and it moved across and right in front of the England defensive wall, clearly less than 1 metre from the defenders.

I haven’t looked at it again, but if they were in front of the wall they could still be more than 1m from the defenders, just simply closer to the ball

Zip Amusing that Neville has a dig at the PM at the end with his mention the country had been led poorly in the past couple of years in contrast to Southgate’s leadership

Neville's opinion is worth shit......the man was Hodgsons assistant in Euro 2016.....a massive part of England and their embarrassing failure. Took over an appalling Valencia side, and they were still appalling when left, with no improvement.

I'm not.......I just can't stand Gary Neville. Or most of the other pundits come to think of it.....but especially the ones who think their opinions are important when to me they frankly are not. If Neville wants to play politics he should join a political party and then I can form an opinion, rather than him publicly banging on about his beliefs when it's supposed to be about football.......same goes for his punditry and what he "thinks" teams/managers should do.
I like listening to managers who have had decent careers talk. Davis Pleat used to be a brilliant co commentator....inciteful and informative.......Dixon, Neville, Carragher etc just stat the f*cking obvious 95% of the time.

'greed! Like GNev as a United fan but feel the same as you about his comments on managing/coaching

We have a lot of proof that he's not very good at it...he makes comments that sound that you can control things in that environment

and the political stuff is a little cringe...

Absolutely...."cringe" is a good word for him. You as a united fanish.....how did you rate him as a full back?
I always felt he was someone you could replace easily, whereas the likes of Denis Irwin was an absolute legend and was so much more than just a full back and was always badly missed. Bit like Ashley Cole or Paulo Maldini....utte legendary full backs. He seems to have escalated himself up there with the real greats......which he isn't.

Neville is a fairly decent pundit. Carragher is OK too. Both are fairly passionate about what they do

Certainly shouldn’t be tarnished with the same brush as Dixon!
