I took a load of year 7s to a England WC qualifier against Kazakhstan I think it was. They all were about to boo the Kazakh anthem but we wouldn't allow it.

The booing of opposition anthems is one of the things that mark us out as childish inbred dickheads and it's one of the disappointing things about being English.

^^This^^ and why there'll never be a tournament held in the UK again.

It's not just England fans that do it though is it?

Ah, man. He handed her the shirt and suddenly someone near me was cutting onions.

Yes made me cry too. I don’t think being terribly hungover helped but there were so many football related things that nearly made me cry today.

I’ll try not to care if we lose on Sunday, but fukk me........if we win............they’ll not be a dry eye in the house.

I got a bit teary at Wembley on Wednesday. First time I've cried at a football match since Bolton in the PO final.

Bolton v Preston playoff final 2001?

We all did, glad he came good in the end though. Only time Bolton have ever been involved in a play off final.

good its unnesacary and uncalled for. why do we boo other teams national anthems? its quite odd.

+1 - a major pet hate of watching England.

Also, don't the moron's who do that not realise that what it does is motivate the opposition?

I suppose it depends whether there’s permanent eye damage or not.

Agree Wolfie, just such a shame that tales like this somewhat overshadow the game itself.

Booing National Anthems
Laser pens
Dominoes pizzas

Whatever next?

Crowd trouble after the game, and rioting. Assaults on opposition fans.

England fans haven’t had to accept defeat yet this tournament. Who knows how they’ll react with the stakes so high.

3-5 mW range of pens can't damage eyes or skin etc

also it's legal to own one

so what do you charge them with?

I'm glad he's played Grealish enough that 'the clamour' can't demand he plays

Would be a fun little web app to investigate 'the clamour' and how right/wrong it is

If true, fair enough. But how can we tell the mW of the pen just from the footage? Surely you’d need the one to see that?
