I mean I can understand him looking for a way out but that's a bit extreme.Hendo wrote:Having his gallbladder out.genome wrote:Conte out for a while due to surgery

Pretty straightforward, would be back working by the weekend if it was a desk job.Hendo wrote:Having his gallbladder out.genome wrote:Conte out for a while due to surgery

Have you seen how much Conte moves on the sideline? Best to give him a couple of weeks to fully recover!Royal Rother wrote:Pretty straightforward, would be back working by the weekend if it was a desk job.Hendo wrote:Having his gallbladder out.genome wrote:Conte out for a while due to surgery

Spurs legend … absolutelygenome wrote:Kane is on almost exact pace with Shearer at the moment. 200 PL goals in 304 games, Shearer did it in 306.
You can rib Spurs all you like, he's a legend.

He is well on his way to becoming a Premier League legend, even if he doesn't win anything.Franchise FC wrote:Spurs legend … absolutelygenome wrote:Kane is on almost exact pace with Shearer at the moment. 200 PL goals in 304 games, Shearer did it in 306.

Winner … well, not looking likely

Not knocking Kane at all, but this Shearer chase is very much a PL thing. Kane's 27th overall for the English top flight. 14 more goals and he goes level with Tony Cottee.genome wrote:Kane is on almost exact pace with Shearer at the moment. 200 PL goals in 304 games, Shearer did it in 306.

Shearer won one PL title, in no small part to owing to Jack Walker doing today's football model 20 years before anyone else.Franchise FC wrote:Spurs legend … absolutelygenome wrote:Kane is on almost exact pace with Shearer at the moment. 200 PL goals in 304 games, Shearer did it in 306.

And it's Greaves he is chasing again of course, on 357. Which looks a long way off, but 315 would take him second all-time. Shearer's 283 well in range.Whore Jackie wrote:Not knocking Kane at all, but this Shearer chase is very much a PL thing. I'm going to take agreement from DD and Brobot as a sign my opposite opinion is correct!Conservative_dad wrote:+1Loafer wrote:yesgenome wrote:David May has two Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a Champions League. Is he more of a legend than Harry Kane?

I would think that being captain of your country would be something to look back on with greater pride than winning a few club team medals.Vision wrote:Also worth bearing in mind that as far as Top flight football is concerned most of the Premier League era has had 4 fewer games played so over a 12 year career period thats 48 games fewer in which to get them. For someone with Kane"s record that equates to about 38 goals in total. That's just a rough guess , I've not done the maths so don't shoot me.
Shearer was a funny one. He'd already won a title so I think the lure of wearing Newcastle's iconic No9 and the chance of winning something with his boyhood club outweighed the almost guaranteed trophies that would come with signing for Man Utd. I doubt he regrets the choice too much.
Kane on the other hand may end up never winning anything but being a genuine one club man. I guess it depends what motivates you really. Different players will look at things differently.
