From Despair To Where? I seem to remember in a previous interview, Couhig talked about untapped media opportunities. I'm not sure where that can be exploited but I guess we're a bigger club than Wrexham, although that's more about Ryan Reynolds, than Wrexham.

I'd also argue Wrexham have a compelling story too...worn down old mining town, traditional "working class" fans stranded in non League. Arguably the most compelling story we can tell is about AZ and Dai ripping out the soul of our family club.

And if Wrexham were owned by a lawyer rather than a Hollywood actor, no-one would give a oxf*rd

Will no one think of the software engineers and insurance company employees?

Get Winslet on the board. Clooney has a gaff just down the road, get him involved too.

We can be the new new Hollywood FC.

East Grinstead Royal Excellent post, katweslowski.

Agreed; get a PowerPoint sorted and present it to Couhig.

WestYorksRoyal With US owners, I've also thought a good business idea would be making some of Bearwood available for NFL teams coming over for London games. Top tier facilities near Heathrow and Wembley; there can't be many places offering it. And they would surely pay good money.

Chelsea are the obvious one. The England rugby set up at Ascot is another.
If the NFL teams are playing at Spurs then you’d th8nk they would use the Spurs training ground but Arsenal is another option.
We’ve had teams using Bearwood, IIRC at the last rugby WC there were teams using it.
Lack of accommodation on site may be a downside. There was supposed to be some but not sure if it ever got put in. If there was a 60 bed hotel on site it would be a great training spot but doubt the economics would stack up just for a couple of weeks each summer. Maybe we could get some yurts put up by the lake and make it a bit of a feature.

American football tears up the ground, especially in the middle of the field. NFL owners are notoriously cheap. It's a no from me.

Sure I can remember one of our managers, may have been Ince, mention that the players had stayed at Bearwood before a match. Which would suggest that they put accommodation there.

I’m sure it was in the original plans IIRC it was more to allow Academy players to stay during the week or after coming back late from away games. I assumed it was fairly basic hostel type rather than top end luxury !

So let me get this right, the idea to make money for the Club from Bearwood will now require investment to install a hostel/hotel/Yurt tents....

Don’t worry, that will be covered by us selling tickets for away games and giving all the money to the other team….

There's some pretty obvious high profile neighbours up the road at Windsor who would surely trump any Canadian action film stars.

Just don't let it be Andrew,

Today is a day. Whether it’s the day, who knows? We’ve had so many deadlines that weren’t actually deadlines, it’s difficult to take it seriously any more.

[/quote]Planning Permission may be an issue, The very thing which saved the training ground from being sold to er... Rob Couhig, which says only Reading FC can play there.

Loophole would be to invite the entire NFL team along for a trial as possible Reading FC players and have them kick a round ball about for 5 minutes for the media team to gather evidence
