No...administration is not a good place. The priorities of the administrators are the creditors and this will be a very long road back, this won't just be a quick visit to league one next year and back to normal.Snowflake Royal wrote:That's got to be good news for them doesn’t it? Short term a lot of pain, but the prospect of a brighter future under someone else.

Look at previous clubs where this has happened.

Yeah, I'd expect some punishment for that as well, this season is oxf*rd and they are 100% relegated.WestYorksRoyal wrote:Don't they have EFL charges outstanding for failing to pay players? There could be another 6 deducted.
Just get all the pain done this season if possible, and try to enjoy the wins when they come.

You've not mentioned the clubs that have gone down and never come back.Snowflake Royal wrote:What, like Leicester?Mid Sussex Royal wrote:No...administration is not a good place. It's better than an owner who is destroying the club, or going out of business entirely.
Recent clubs? Derby have done ok. Wigan not awful. Bolton, brief trip to L2 then back in L1. They were heading into L1 before administration already.

Yeah, exactly.WestYorksRoyal wrote:Administration in itself is a mixed thing. You only go into administration if your owner has got you into a real mess, at which point it will get rid of them but at great cost.
What differentiates the good and bad examples of what follows is who bought them next. It's that simple. I think Portsmouth had several bad owners in succession, whereas Leicester were rescued by Lineker and his pals, stabilised and sold to the Thais.

Yes it`s sick isn`t it, them Brighton and Bournemouth used to be regular rivals in the EFL, look at what can happen with a proper management structure.Fox Talbot wrote:Came home from Doncaster match, which I didn’t enjoy, to watch on TV our old friends and rivals from down the M4 tear the reigning champions apart in front of an ecstatic full house. Been there, done that. Reading 3-1 Liverpool, Dec 2007. We’ll be back and no doubt Brentford shall return at some point too.Fox Talbot wrote:Came home from Doncaster match, which I didn’t enjoy, to watch on TV our old friends and rivals from down the M4 tear the reigning champions apart in front of an ecstatic full house. Never had the money needed in the PL. first time JM just wouldn’t sanction what he saw as the ridiculous wages necessary (rightly, given he didn’t have the money) and SC was too loyal to look for the bargains.. The second time round the club had a little boy owning the club who only had a bit of pocket money and his dad wouldn’t give him a bit more to let him play with the big boys.windermereROYAL wrote:Yes it`s sick isn`t it, them Brighton and Bournemouth used to be regular rivals in the EFL, look at what can happen with a proper management structure.Fox Talbot wrote:Came home from Doncaster match, which I didn’t enjoy, to watch on TV our old friends and rivals from down the M4 tear the reigning champions apart in front of an ecstatic full house. We had the chance with our 2006 team but instead of building we let it go.

Yes but Liverpool weren't reigning champions then, which I think is more the point rather that the actual club who are Champions.Sutekh wrote:Been there, done that. Reading 3-1 Liverpool, Dec 2007. this. Brentford are the most likeable London club (and the one closest to me apart from F*lham) followed by Palace.LUX wrote:Very happy for Brentford. Would love BHA to be relegated OTOH.
Neutral on AFCB.
