WLLWD in the league 7 points from 5 games, plus a draw away in the cup

WWDDLL isn't stratospherically wonderful but compared to being in free-fall
and dispirited as we were when he came in, that is pretty tidy

If you drop the first two (as I said before we'd played

we are LWDD and improving as last night's result AND performance showed

and we've done that despite losing our captain, losing our top scorer,
playing an old crock and a kid at the back.

Suddenly we have spirit again, Piazon might have been found a position.
Hal is playing again, Vydra is fired up. Williams has two goals under McD,
we have 3-4 million incoming are in the top half, still in the cup.

The three much maligned players, Vydra, HRK, Piazon did a ton of work for that Williams goal.

Hydra did incredibly well in the corner, HRK worked his socks off, as said, Piazon showed real class with his pass to HRK





It was very sad, though to see Blackman trudge disconsolately towards the half-way line

I seem to remember him having a streak of playing well that lasted about 3 months the last time his contract was up for renewal. Pretty predictable I'm afraid. Has 2 and a half crap seasons when we can't even get in as a regular in the first team, tries hard for 10 games, gets offered a new contract and goes back to previous form soon after.

that you prefer to judge a manager after, say, ten days, when he has had
a chance to asses a squad, begin to impress his methods?

If a manager signed at one mount to three, would it be fair to judge him on a game that started one minute later?

He strolled forward onto a good pass and ,unmarked, chipped the ball into a crowded penalty area-anyone would think that he had skinned 3 defenders and put the ball on Williams' head where he couldn't miss.
The two defenders were badly at fault as neither of them attempted to clear and Williams made his decisive move to score his 6th(?) goal this season.
A very good record for a midfielder and it' a shame that forwards such as Sa, Vydra and Kanu haven't been doing what they are paid to do, put the ball in the net.

It's gpod news that Kanu played well last night according to those that went and, as another poster said, it looks as though he is finding form ahead of contract expiry-if that is what it takes , fine as it will help the team enormously and they won't have to play with somebody who has been a passenger for so long.
Now let's see some goals Hal as 0 in the league is not a very good return for a forward player.

Not sure what you mean about the negatives.
As a season-ticket holder of our club, possibly for longer than anybody else on here, I want the best for RFC not only because I want to watch my team play well and at the highest level but also because I had the largest bet of my life after the Ipswich game on Reading to finish in the top 6 but also coupled with Oxford to finish in the top 7 of their division-Oxford look well up to doing their bit.

As far as Kanu is concerned Pepe called last night's goal as great work by Kanu but as I saw it there was just a run-of-the-mill cross from the fat man that needed a terrific jump and finish by Williams to score his 10th goal of the season.
If finally, finally, finally Kanu comes good after all the years and all the opportunities I will be delighted but fear that his few reasonable games will be far outweighed by the less so.
