Reading will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Royals were handed the most difficult possible tie after overcoming Sheffield United 4-0 at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday. Meanwhile, Manchester United were 4-1 home winners against Fulham in their fourth round game. The game will take place on the weekend of the 16th / 17th February.
Reading last faced Manchester United in the FA Cup, at the same stage, in the 2006/2007 season. A Gunnarsson equaliser saw Reading earn a 1-1 draw and a home replay. The replay saw United race into a three goal lead inside just six minutes. However, Reading got back into the game, scoring twice with Kitson and Lita on the scoresheet to make it 2-3 at full time.
