Season Ends With Appropriate Defeat

Relegated Reading's final Premier League game of the season, and potentially for some time, ended in an appropriate 2-4 away defeat at West Ham United. Reading, who picked up just one victory and a total of 5 points from their last 13 games of the season, signed off with a defeat that typified the season. We didn't start too badly but found ourselves two goals down at half time. Half way through this season we staged a brief recovery that gave us some hope - and this game was no different with McCleary and Le Fondre finding the net after half time to make it 2-2. However, in typical Reading fashion, the collapse to solid defeat was still to come. Two goals from West Ham inside the last eleven minutes were enough to make it a comfortable win for the hosts. Despite Reading's terrible final third of the season they still managed to somehow avoid finishing bottom of the table.
