Reading somehow managed to cling onto the magical sixth place in the Championship table this weekend. Despite another poor showing at home, Reading had other teams results to thank. The Royals were improved from Tuesday's dismal showing against Barnsley and managed to collect a point from the visit of Huddersfield with a 1-1 draw. However Reading's terrible home form could well mean Reading fail to finish inside the top six. Reading have collected just 3 points from a possible 18 from their last six home games.
Once again Reading failed to score from open play. After the visitors took a fourth minute lead, it was Pogrebnyak once again from the penalty spot that was the only goal on Reading's side of the scoresheet. That was after 7 minutes - and Reading failed to take advantage of lower league opposition again for the following 83. Alex McCarthy was many fans player of the match which gives another indication of Reading failing to take home advantage. Thankfully Reading's next two games are away from home.
