Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has pulled out of the Australian international squad with an, as yet, unrevealed injury. Federici was set to feature on Thursday with Australia scheduled to take on Lebanon but will no longer play in that game or next week's World Cup qualifier against Jordan.
It's more bad news for Federici who has struggled with form so far this season despite a very impressive promotion campaign last term. The injury is not expected to be serious with the club describing it as minor. Federici is still likely to available for Reading's next league fixture but it increases the chances of him being given a rest allowing McDermott to try other options.
