Reading will play either Barnsley or Everton in a rare home cup tie after the draw for the third round of the League Cup was made last night. Al Habsi gifted Portsmouth a half time lead last night at Fratton Park, in the second round, before goals from Nick Blackman and a 84th minute winner from Gareth McCleary secured a 2-1 win, only our second victory of the season.

League One Barnsley face Premier League Everton tonight in their second round match to decide who will go on to visit the Madejski Stadium in the next round. The third round fixture will take place on Tuesday 22 September.
