Transfer Deadline Day Rumours

Despite completing the big money signing of Fulham forward Sone Aluko earlier this week, rumours continue that Reading might conduct some more business before the summer transfer deadline closes tonight.

Reading have already signed seven players in this transfer window. All seven of those players will be expected to play a major part in the first team squad this season, giving Stam plenty of strength in all departments. The only possible weakness appears to be the lack of an out and out striker as we wait the return of Kermorgant from injury.

Rumours are still bouncing around and according to SBAT football predictions there's the long-running possibility of Norwich City's Nelson Oliveira and Brighton's Tomer Hemed. Oliveira is attracting the interest of Swansea City and is expected to be outside Reading's budget, but Israel international striker Hemed is still being linked with the Royals.

In a Hob Nob Anyone? poll, nearly half of voters expect exactly zero incoming players. After the Royals appear to have already conducted most of their transfer business only 9 percent of voters expect 2 or more players to be arriving today on transfer deadline day.

Meanwhile the club confirmed yesterday that defenders Jordan Obita and Paul McShane have extended their contracts at Reading. Obita now has three years at Reading, while McShane is now contracted until the summer of 2019.
