End Of Season Awards

End Of Season Awards 2002/2003

Congratulations to Nicky Forster and James Harper who have taken the 2002/2003 titles in the Hob Nob Anyone? End of Season Awards. This season's voting clearly shows Forster, Harper and Shorey as Reading's outstanding players.

After an excellent season up-front for Reading Nicky Forster took nearly a third of the vote to be voted Reading's best performing player of the season. Forster, Reading's leading goal scorer for 2002/2003, was well clear of James Harper with Nicky Shorey and Graeme Murty taking third and fourth place.

Harper should be pleased with his runners-up position in the player of the season but should be even more pleased with his walk away victory in the voting for most improved player of the season. James Harper took over two thirds of the vote as fans almost unanimously recognised Harper as the player that has progressed his career most this season. Nathan Tyson has also come from nowhere this season to hit the headlines and finished runner up with Nicky Shorey taking another third spot.

Reading fans were treated to some excellent victories this season - but two games stood well ahead of the others in terms of Reading performances during the season. The victories against the two sides involved in the other play-off fixture stood out, with away at Sheffield United and at home against Nottingham Forest being voted the best games. Voting was well split, as expected, for the worst Reading performance of the season. In the end the games involving the top two sides were voted Reading's worst performances - perhaps a bit harsh considered the quality of the opposition. The home defeat against Leicester was the worst performance of the season with the defeat at Portsmouth just behind.

Votes were collected between 29 April 2003 and 7 May 2003.
All result figures are expressed as percentages of the total vote.
