Miazga's injury a worry, but it seems McIntyre did well (with the exception of a missed clearance) in his place to help secure the clean sheet. Young McIntyre may see a lot of game time if Miazga is out for an extended period.

It's not all about shots as a goalkeeper: his defensive organization and command of area has prevented a lot of chances in these games from happening. The guy is class.

Says a lot about the defence in front of him if true. But then he also has to organise that defence and communicate at the right time. Not bad for someone who currently has extremely limited English.
I was estimating. It's probably more. But you nailed my point exactly. Our defenders have smothered most attacks well. Long may it continue.

Also before the BFTG I think it's fair to single out McIntyre for a good performance under tricky circumstances. We were dominated for long periods and he did what was needed and did it well. Good on him.

Oh he appears to be a very decent keeper. Still worry about his long distribution. If you see my other response you'll see what i was getting at.

Beat them is looking a tricky ask but we haven't looked this competent in a long time. I'm hoping we rest well for Plymouth. We have almost a player for every position except CB so shove them on.

Yep the first team needs a rest for Plymouth. Play the bench players and younger guns.

Because they’ve watched us. Let us wear our selves out trying to get a non existent goal- bring him on late in the game and walk around our defenders

It’s called good management , something we’ve lacked for a while

And thinking about it a bit more theres nothing wrong with playing the 3 CBs here. Bit more time to gel and communicate. McIntyre will also benefit now with Miazga injured.

He's made several very good saves - nothing amazing yet mind you ... but I can think of two today that were 'good' saves -- one hit towards the top corner ... not sure about the other.

We almost did exactly that but their CB had Puşcaş for pace.

Dont misinterpret me here. I'm not questioning the saves hes made, just stating the defenders and Pele have done a very good job limiting the amount of work hes had to do.

Also he only made 2 saves today as they only had 2 shots on target.

I think we will beat Charlton. Just looked at their stats today. They had 3 attempts at goal. Brentford had 22.

Shows what a difference a proper keeper can make. (plus defensive organisation of course).

He's averaging 4 saves a match, which is the third highest in the division. Both the players above him have only played one match.

possibly this will be the game that tells us we are now good enough to challenge for a top half position come the end of the season...

Yes. How many shots on target hes saved have been inside the box?

I repeat I wasnt disparaging him with my comment. I was pointing out that our defenders and Pele have been more important in limiting our opponents to half snatched pot shots from distance and scrappy headers from set pieces.

He seems a good keeper but hasn't been challenged properly at all yet.

As for the organisational side I imagine given the language barrier Moore and Morrison deserve some credit for how in control we have looked.

Ejaria took his goal really well. Morrison gives us a threat from set pieces. All good.

Just giving you the facts. You implied he hasn't had to save many shots, I just showed he's averaging the most saves in the division of anyone who has played more than one game. Saving 12 out of 12 shots on target excluding penalties is pretty shit hot.
