I am never normally in favour of large clubs helping out small clubs in financial difficulties but they simply have to if supporters aren't allowed back in to stadiums soon. The National League and the couple of leagues below will simply fold if they are not given financial support.

I think its Levels 3-6 that are most vulnerable (L1 down). Levels 7 and below are actually doing very well out of this with all the increased attendances. They also dont have contracted players in the most part.

Yep absolutely, it is going to be the National League and National League North and South. Can see a lot of clubs dying or dropping down to the base of the pyramid.

Some good news concerning Macclesfield...

A local businessman Robert Smethurst has acquired the assets of Macclesfield Town.

The Club will maintain the historic brand and logo under the new name of Macclesfield FC.

Danny Whitaker will become first team manager.

Apparently, Robbie Savage is on the board of the new phoenix club.

Also confirmed today that the players wages from December, that they had agreed to delay by a month, have not been paid this month as it should have been. The club say they are aiming to pay that in February now.

Yeah, I'm slightly worried this morning if I'm a Burnley fan. Certainly relegation becomes totally unpalatable from a financial standpoint, doesn't it? On the basis of that article, can see them losing Turf Moor and becoming a Coventry City, unless they manage to maintain their lower mid-table home.
