I forgot the lovely footwork by Cabral in goal, the fantastic pass to Joao.
Then Joao’s excellent hold up play, that gorgeous back-pass and a superb shot by E-J into the far corner.
It’s going to be hard to score many better goals than that.
Except it was forward?Snowball wrote: gorgeous back-pass
. It's a good thread and a running one would be nice.Old Man Andrews wrote:Snowball wrote:Ejaria at Derby

Just grow up a bit if you can, stop labelling fairly decent goals as "goal of the season".Snowball wrote:My mother, long now passed, oft told me,

Maybe you should start a thread or even make an interesting post once in a while before you call others out
Yes they do. I bet if there was a poll about who on the board wants either me or you, I would win.Old Man Andrews wrote:Nobody wants or needs you to join in. Go away.Simmops wrote:. REALLY? As a team goal, with three/four /five excellent elements... (personally, I believe) itwill be hard to match.Hendo wrote:Like the idea of a ongoing thread for goal of the season contenders.
Although the goal yesterday was good, I’d say that Joao’s 3rd against Colchester was better. Brilliant bit of individual skill to turn the defender in tight space, then to smash it in.
To say we won’t see a better goal than Ovie’s this season, would be a pretty sad season for goals.
A team goal which involved 3 players? A long kick downfield, a very nice back-heel and a pretty standard finish.Snowball wrote:REALLY? As a team goal, with three/four /five excellent elements... I personally don't rate random 30-yard screamers. Some go in, most go wide or high
What I was going to suggest was to build a top twenty and move them up and down. So, right now ALL our goals would be in the top 5.
I thought Joao's first yesterday was very neat, too, especially when we discover it was a training ground "foul".
Ah cmon OMA. Its a nice way to discuss good goals scored by the team throughout the season. I like it. Dont be so negative.Old Man Andrews wrote:Snowball wrote:Ejaria at Derby

yeah i agree with that. Not a team goal but some excellent play. I praised Rafael for his awareness at a tricky point in a match to pull that off. Certainly a contender but mostly for the emotion behindSnowflake Royal wrote:Yeah good shout that snowball, Seth, Hendo
Saw that one described as a team goal on the club's Youtube channel... found that a bit odd seeing as it was a quick back to front from GK to striker, and only four players touch it in the clip.
Saying that, the run from Swift into the box is a crucial part in drawing defenders, Olise comes and shows well outside the box to forcing a midfielder to come to him rather than go over to Ovie, who ghosts in nicely to be completely unmarked.
Absolute brilliance from Joao to make the run, control the ball, deal with it when it holds up, see the big picture and then weight a perfect back-heel into Ejaria's path for a simple, if not necessarily easy, finish.
Hopefully we'll be adding to this on a regular basis. Joao's third against Colchester was pretty nice too.
I'm referring to the overexagerated praise of the Ejaria goal, that was the premise of the thread originally and not to keep a running commentary of the goals of the season.NewCorkSeth wrote:Ah cmon OMA.
