He was 5'6", 5'7" max. That's really short for a keeper even back then. And yes, he was a really great player, regardless of how good the rest of your defence might be, you don't go 1,103 minutes without conceding a goal unless you are a really great keeper!tmesis wrote:Wasn't Steve Death meant to be a really great player, but just really short for a goalkeeper? 5'8" or something like that. A bit like Jimmy Quinn being very talented, but also incredibly slow, which limited him as a player more than his skill did.AthleticoSpizz wrote: Worse than a Steve Death v Steve Francis (remember him?) comparison?
Yep tiny by any goalkeeping standards. I didn’t see him play live but gather he was very agile. Passed away very young sadly.RoyalBlue wrote:He was 5'6", 5'7" max. Yes, his agility was his greatest strength. Also, he had a sort of way of enveloping the ball when a low shot came in, it just seemed to hit him like he had some sort of magnetic force.Zip wrote:Yep tiny by any goalkeeping standards. He was also very good with the ‘one on ones’, somehow making himself large and the goal looking small.Norfolk Royal wrote:Yes, his agility was his greatest strength. I think he'd get more of a mention if he hadn't played for us during a mainly poor period for the club (half a decent season in Div 2, before relegation the year after, then years of mediocrity) and hadn't been replaced by Shaka.AthleticoSpizz wrote: Steve Francis was pretty good too btw....but who ever mentions him?
A terrible footballer who played for a tinpot local teamSimmops wrote:Whose percy freeman?

Sadly several months is very optimistic. This appears to be a very serious knee injury. Let’s hope he fully recovers to play for us again but I don’t think we will see him next season. An awful start to pre season.tidus_mi2 wrote:Meite is gonna be injured for several months, terrible news.
Depending on the nature of the surgery undertaken and procedure used, optimistically he could be back in 6-8 months. However, our past record for smooth and quick recoveries is not good.Zip wrote:Sadly several months is very optimistic. This appears to be a very serious knee injury.
